Its a simple case of needing a Buck converter + a slightly better PSU vs a linear regulator.

I think you allready adressed this somewhere, but I'm not completely sure about it; are you going to modify the 68020 version to add IDE as well? Or is it possible to leave te co-processor out the 68030 board (don't think much people need it).

In terms of the 030 board...So long as you solder in the CPSENSE resistor for the FPU you can leave the rest un-populated and the logic detects the FPU as available or not (You dont even need to solder the socket in. (they are so cheap you might aswell put one in tho) I expect there will be a few minor issues left in the 030 board to work out and a rev 3 will eventually be needed. Probably eventually do a TF531 with DRAM rather than SRAM. For now I just want to see how fast i *can* go. But yes... Basically you can get a bare TF530 board for $3-$5 and solder the parts you are interested in. |

Hi please don't kill me for this...when you solve tf 520 and the kipper board, will you be implementing this to tf540 when you get to that stage? Ps amazing work & videos as always! I can't wait for when you get your rev 2 tf530 from dirty pcbs.

68040 is very nice CPU. Huge performance upgrade compared to 68030 and it is not a rare compared to 68060. It is possible to find full 68040 CPU less than 20€ and change to get scammed is minimal. It is actually often cheaper than 68030 CPUs.
For me 68040 is minium CPU. OS is very reponsive with FBlit/FText and hires laced sceens. Every possible amiga game works nicely, excluding hand full of games. Like Earth 2140 With Indivision ECS Picasso 96 driver it would make any ECS amiga very diffrent machine. Could you consider to make it CDTV compatiable? |

I'd consider it if I had a cdtv to test it on. But I don't. The TF540 will have no RAM onboard at least in the rev1

OK I've made progress with the Kipper2K vs TF520 RAM issue. The RAM Now passes the tests. I seem to have introduced something thats stopping AmigaOS from booting.

Kipper2K A508 Now boots and the RAM works...
https://twitter.com/terriblefire/sta...15740333178880 IDE is not working ... - Starting IDE Tests Checking for a chipset mirror: Mirror Not Detected Reading Gayle Version: 0F No IDE Interface Found (Aborting IDE Tests) So basically the GayleID isnt being read correctly. Does anyone know which code the Kipper2k board uses for the IDE interface? |

Hmmm. The IDE interface doesn't seem to return a Gayle ID with either an 020 or a plain 68000. Im looking at address $DE1000. Any ideas?
