There's now a "Hotfix 2"-package in the Betatest-forums available which includes:

Not that owners are happy for the most part, and there's activity in software development and patches, I'm really thinking about buying a Pandora, too .

I've decided to get a Pandora battery for my PSP instead. I use my HTC Desire for web browsing so my PSP will be my emulator device

It really is getting exciting suddenly with Pandora. I really hope the next batch of cases from China don't take too long (I want mine!). The devs really are bending over backwards to make this machine the ultimate emulation device. For me the winner is the controls combined with keyboard and touchscreen.
tonyyeb, I've got an old Phat PSP hacked with the pandora (batt), its nice too but faffy having to hack and mess to get it to run with the latest stuff. It always induces that quakey bottom feeling whenever I do something risqué on it. I also have a Dingoo..... now that little machine is amazing. Better than the PSP in my opinion. Tiny, smart and with a beautifully crisp screen. BTW, i'm originally from Hull |

Don't get me wrong, at under £200 I might be tempted. I've followed the Pandora story from mid 2008 and really wanted one... but my PSP is sat doing nothing so I might as well invest £10 in it and give it a new lease of life before splashing £250 + P&P on a new machine.
Whereabouts in Hull did you live? |

Yeah definately give it a new lease of life! You can get some great stuff for a hacked PSP. I'm just a gadget freak and tend to buy lots of random stuff
I sent you a pm on where I lived so as not to hijack the thread |

Didn't think it'd be made possible this soon (or even at all) - but it's been done.
Installed the Hotfix 2-package and then executed the new script op_lcdrate.sh (with '50' as parameter). Just played Turrican (fullspeed incl. sound) with perfectly smooth 50Hz-scrolling. On a handheld. |

^ You wouldn't regret it. It's a fully functional Linux PC with good gaming controls, keyboard, WLAN and 50Hz-capable display fitting in a pocket.
Btw., the testresults I posted on the previous page were all done at only 500MHz. The CPU's default speed is actually 600MHz. At 600MHz you can play Assassin SE fine with sound and frameskip 1 in PUAE. In the system settings you can set the speed up to 900MHz. Most Pandoras reach stable 800MHz which only drains a little more battery. (Note you can't harm the ARM CPU by overclocking. The worst case scenario is a freeze/reset.) |

Made a 38 minutes-vid featuring Turrican II, Lotus, Hunter, James Pond II, Speedball 2, Stunt Car Racer TNT, Battle Squadron PAL version, All Terrain Racing and Turrican 3 - in that order.
I had to split it into 5 parts in order to upload it to Youtube. Could only upload part 1 (Turrican II) yet: [ Show youtube player ] (quality of the vid should improve in a few hours as it's still being processed by youtube) The rest will follow tomorrow afternoon. Awesome video john4p, thanks for posting it. I would love to see a video of P-UAE when you get some time. Perhaps the UI and settings and then running a workbench HDF.
@TCD: Its on the first settings page frameskip is 0 |

Yes, it is frameskip 0. In the next game - Lotus - you'll see that I'll use frameskip 1.
The remaining 7 games then all use frameskip 0 again. @THB: Yeah, I'll also make a PUAE vid soon. Last edited by john4p; 13 June 2010 at 16:45. |
