No, it is a newer game, which is a "faithful" remake (2D graphics, while 2100 is 3D although the angle it top-down).
It is available on PSP too, under the name Speedball 2 Evolution (floppy sounds included during loading screens).

Classic!

I miss WW2 shooters. All the modern ones just do not compare in atmosphere.

I've been replaying through Blade Runner on PC, I'd forgotten what a really lovely game it is, very obvious how much effort went into it all.
The voxel engine used for the characters is pretty damn impressive for the time too.

I've been playing Blade Runner recently as well, awesome game!

The last couple of days, I've been playing a free indie game called "You Have to Win the Game"... it's a nice game in the style of those 80s platformer/exloration type games.

It has a really nice CRT 'mode', looks great! -

Tyrian, awesome DOS shoot'em up... finished Raptor as well, a few days ago, but that one is nowhere near as good as Tyrian, imo.

No? I think Raptor is really ace. Tyrian 2000 is very good don't get me wrong, but Raptor... perhaps it is the incredible audio that pulls me to it, the game is just so wonderfully loud!

Don't get me wrong, I like Raptor a lot, too... I just think Tyrian is quite a bit better (cooler levels, more varied enemies, more upgrades, better graphics...).

I really like both games, though!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not getting you wrong.

I've been playing Dead Island a bit. Its actually quite fun and it has a neat "drop in drop out" coop system. That was the first time where people just joined my game without asking

Finished Tyrian last night, so I've been trying out an indie freeware game called "An Untitled Story" today... so far, I quite like it.

Played through Jill of the Jungle, an old Epic platformer, felt quite amateurish but was fun enough.
Then I played through what was initially meant to be the sequel, but Epic wasn't happy with the quality, so another company released it under a new name - Vinyl Goddess from Mars.
Quite nice graphics, but it got very repetitive.

Right now I'm playing Xargon, another platformer from Epic, which uses the same game engine as Jill, but which looks and feels a lot more polished.

Going through the old Epic Megagames backlog eh Don't miss out on Jazz Jack Rabbit and One Must Fall 2097.

And btw: avoid dark shadowy places if you do not want to get a boot to the bum because you did not play Super Metroid yet.

Yeah, going through the Epic games I missed out on... Jazz is a really good one, but I've played that one a lot already, I actually have an original copy of the CD version of that game, from long ago.
Really nice game, that

EDIT - now I'm playing through Rick Dangerous 2 again... or at least trying!
I've forgotten so much, I die quite a lot.

Because of this thread, I spent last night playing The New Zealand Story on my PS3 connected to a 32" sdtv with an XArcade, courtesy of FBA.

Damn.. is hooking this game. Its hard to adapt to the controls ( and to the colouring ) . but the game has much of collect'm up and results very addictive.

A very good surprise of game. Is like a more puzzle oriented SuperMario.

Ok after I recently played through Lionheart on Normal, I am now trying it on difficulty Lionhard. Wow, the levels are actually different! Not just the enemy patterns and strengths, but the platforms themselves, the level design changes. This is becoming one of my favorite Amiga games of all time

That is actually a very neat idea, to alter the level design according to the difficulty. I can count the number of games that do that (and that I know of) on one hand.
