Clue time. I'll try not to make it too easy.

Whilst it had a successful english release the developers and publishers are from a non english speaking country.

Lol, that would be a good psychological test.

I always saw females until I read your post. Now I can see the happy animals too.

Incorrect, Lielo.

And those are boobies.

Another clue. It's known by two names and the original one is spelt wrong.

EDIT: And that means there are two boxes for it and it's the original one that I've drawn.

Kult http://http://hol.abime.net/2603/boxscan
If I'm right I've got to try posting something more challenging this time, it most of seems the games I've played are pretty mainstream compared to some of the offerings here! Great stuff

Kult is german for cult, what matches the partially german designer title "Arbeit von Spacekraft".

@Harry
That might explain it. It is also quite a common intentional misspelling.

An art teacher writes "could do better". I'll be busy in the morning so I'll put this up now. Sure it won't take you long to guess it...

It is obviously the cover for the Amiga version of Contra/Gryzor.

Note the similarity with the cover of Super C (could be the same scene seen from a different angle):

A clue -
An arcade conversion released in 1989.
The blurb on the back says "The experts said it couldn't be done ... but our programming team just smiled at each other, and now..."
Loved it in the arcades, Miggy version is really close, just missing the music and one of my favourite animations.
