Maybe in another parallel universe there is a near arcade perfect port of Final Fight on the Amiga.. Elfmania is working proof the Amiga is capable of arcade level performance and bending the rules of what's possible to the point of absurdity. |

yes, "more" or "less". Elfmania's draw back is the crap playability, the characters are like cast in stone on this point.

I had more fun hitting falling money. Eye-popping Coin Kickers may be right title.

I don't have a problem with arcade conversions not being perfect, I like the machine's character to come through. I have Mame for the arcade versions. This version of FF looks great, isn't the arcade version and looks like it will be better than the original amiga version.

yes it's way better than the original miggy version. There is however a pb (well we'll see) with the sprite graphics, those render better under winuae than on a real 1200, because an amiga monitor/display is not the same as in winuae (which is normal).

@leathered If this hasn't been confirmed already - I've given the alpha a quick test on WinUAE under CD32 settings (including loading from a CD image) and it looks like it's going to work perfectly on a stock console.
When you're done, Steve and I will be honoured to do the CD32 release if that sounds good to you ![]() |

I'm not looking for an arcade perfect port, I have my X68000 for that.
I always like to see the Amiga's unique character to shine through which, from the look of the Alpha version, looks to be the case. I'm looking forward to the final version greatly! ![]() |

![]() It has gone through some major changes since this Alpha, but hopefully for the better. I still have the Alpha model of AI to fall back on if the new one proves improper. The only potential issue I can see is the speed, the old AI was quite simple, but was developed before I got a bit more speed out of the sucker, so I thought we could get away with more. Time will tell! |

We think it's time to give news about final fight aga,
then i'll post a snapshot of the bonus stage on amiga. We succeed for the moment to keep the game ecs compatible... The game should work on amiga 500 but it won't work on a amiga 500 vanilla. On amiga 500 the minimum will be to have 2 mega of chip and 512ko of other mem. But you'll need an accelerator too, an accelerator with the same cpu or more powerfull than an amiga 1200 cpu should be enough. Now the little snapshot.I just finished this one yesterday. ![]() Last edited by turrican3; 05 December 2014 at 09:14. |

Looks like for the Arcade version they went more for more shades of gray and brown rather than actual color.
I see that the AGA version has been moved to Autumn instead of taking place in summer ![]() |
