I just used my soldering iron, had to crank it to 450 as my normal 350 was doing nothing to the solder pads.

That's the one I just got. Shop around a bit though, that doesn't necessarily look like the best price

This was where I got mine: http://www.ebay.com/itm/320990818629...84.m1439.l2649

You need to PM Kipper to see what he can do. The order has been placed already.

I feel like I've missed something. I see several boards on the paid list web page showing TSOP. What does that mean, and what is the cost? (I've paid for my 2 bare boards, I have not noticed prices or descriptions for anything other than bare board stated anywhere)

Just read through the thread.

Way to go on the bulk buy. GBA1000 is truly a great piece of kit to restore the memory of the A1000.

The HDD would not be DMA accessible would it, or is it still using PIO mode ?, my guess would be PIO, would be even better if you had DMA access to the HDD for the 060, the speed jump would be phenomenal.

Every now and then I keep trying to get my cyberstorm 060 SCSI adapter to work with the SCSI to IDE bridge and a CF card, but I still think my 4000's power supply is not once what it was and the system crashes on boot, so I have to move back to the 4000's sluggish IDE port.

I know you cannot have everything, and this project is a start, but DMA hard drive access for the 060 (even the 030) would be an incredible advancement.

Anyway, I would *LOVE* to be part of this, except with the recent addition of two miniature human beings in the house hold, chances are between next to none, and IMPOSSIBLE , money wise, as well as time wise.

TSOP is a VERY fine pinout, too hard for most hobbyist to solder, kipper is offering to do the TSOP chip soldering for a fee.

kipper2k is doing a parts buy, some of them are;

melbourne rocks dandenong/springy/noble park even more so :P

this board is only 030, not 060, and its PIO, not dma as far as I know. I believe it uses oktagon 2008 ide driver.

The basic board is 030, but I was looking at something the other day (Perhaps linked here, perhaps linked elsewhere, I forget which) but there were pictures of an Addon board for the CPU, that allowed an 060 to be used.
This peaked my interest, given I have an 060 in my A4000, but I do not think I could bring myself to actually removing it, but think about it, GBA1000 with an 060 (And I think, the ram to go with it). If the person who made the 060 add on, could expand on it to add DMA HDD accessibility, it would not need to be DMA5 (ATA/100), DMA2 is equal to PIO/4 (16MB a second), but instead of using the CPU to manage the transfers (PIO), DMA free's up the bulk of the CPU time for other tasks. That is / was the intended use of the Cyberstorm SCSI. Plus if the GBA 060 board had DMA HDD, you avoid any bottlenecks on the main board (Key goal of the Cyber Scsi), Keeping fast HDD access from interfering with CPU / motherboard bus transfers.

forget it!
The 060 addon board as well as the additional GBA1000-60 board is not available.
I will also carry out any further reactions to the board.

Has any body have a working board yet using the CY7C1049CV33-15VXC SRAM Memory Chips from Kipper2K? A concern has been raised as to the low voltage range (+3.3V) on the device, and if the chips should be the +5V.

I do. It should be 5V, but it actually works. See it at http://www.8bity.cz/2013/gba1000-sol...o-amiga-a1000/
