For stock Amiga 500 with 1MB RAM, Grind /Dread game would be marginally competitive if it was released in the 1993 time period. All Amiga OCS/ECS with full 32-bit CPU accelerators can't get involved with AGA gaming, hence knocking out all full 32-bit CPU accelerated A2000/A3000/A500s from the gaming market. Amiga's 1992 RTG EGS with GVP graphics card was expensive and needed a big box Amiga. RTG with A500 doesn't exist without a Zorro II bus board. GVP A530 wasn't designed with a common small SBC module (CPU+Fast RAM) that can be transferred to the adapter board for A1200's expansion bus. For my situation, ditching A3000/030 @ 25 Mhz for A1200 + 3rd party A1230 accelerator wasn't cost-effective i.e. similar CPU performance with an expensive display card adapter upgrade. A1200 with 68LC040 accelerator for about $1100-to-$1300 AUD from A1200 with Commodore's $400 USD A3640 card cost could help me stay with the Amiga platform in Xmas 1993. A1200 with 68LC040@ 25Mhz's 486SX-25 level performance and cost competitive price against 486SX-33 based PC clone would be nice in Xmas 1993. With PiStorm/A500 to PiStorm32/A1200, PRi 3A+ SBC module was transferred over before the Pi 4B performance upgrade. CGX arrive in 1995 and P96 arrive in 1996. From what I can tell this game is another case of nice graphics shame about the game, with the added problem of being too embarrassing to show in public. And the 'woman' isn't beautiful either. |

While the controls for Capital Punishment were awful, I actually really enjoyed the brutal sudden-death nature of the game. It intentionally tried to be cruel rather than sporting. I wish more games were like that.

Same sexist issue was involved with the horrid game called Dangerous Streets. There was a hooker with as* and lorry driver has his pant's zip open, not good!
Dangerous streets was one of the CD32 bundle, who thought this great idea deserves a medal ![]() |
