i voted for gradius !!!
But iw ould have been happy with : altered beast, a good port could be impressive ! street fighter 2 , it's a kind a saint graal since the poor amiga version was out ! penguin adventure (konami msx), because it just exist on msx and it's an amazing game !! shuffle puck cafe, with some colours enhancements + 2 players option hinotori, same reason than penguin adventures. metal gear 1, an enhanced version of the msx or better mg1+2, the 2 is an exclu of the msx. aldynes, exclu super graphx, and a really good gradius clone. If i had the choice i would have choose one of those exclu not really known by the public, i don't think that the majority of the amiga community played those games at the time. But the rules are the polls. but my list could give you some ideas for the next one. |

Am honest, if was for my deep wishes i would love a proper Strider remake with parallax in EHB (technically impossible but is just a wishful thinking)

Failing SF1 I'd still think Rastan should be top of the list considering there was never an attempt to port it to the Amiga unlike Shinobi regardless of it being pretty naff, Rastan deserves the top slot.

Strider in EHB would be a big struggle considering the huge DMA and Blitter cost that comes alongside EHB, though. Don't underestimate just how few bobs you get in that mode - it's not pretty. And that's not even considering the memory use
More on topic perhaps, it may be a better fit for AGA (though I still think it won't be that easy - perhaps a 16+16 Dual Playfield setup might fit better here). |

IMHO these are quite decent: ... Classic Pucman ... Deluxe Pacman [OCS/ECS] ... Deluxe Pacman [AGA] ... Pac-Mania ... PacMan '96 Last edited by DamienD; 03 September 2019 at 20:05. |

@DamienD: Classic Pucman is very good. Maze is the same as the arcade, so are the ghost colors. I remember doing the whdload install and removing the shareware limitation.
@d4rk3lf let's try with Pacman first... If Wizard of Wor uses the same tech, that could be done afterwards. And thanks for the support. It's true that I participated in a lot of whdload adaptations since 1998. Note that Stingray, Psygore, Wepl, Asman and some other whdload coders are regulars at EAB too. |

And that's why i said was just a dream, i know a Strider in EHB with all bells and whistles is just not possible on an A500... however a cut down version like Assassin (forgetting about parallax) in just 16 colors/25fps should be doable; would take forever to be done and use like 20 disks but should be doable :P

Ever seen Cyber Man on the Amiga?! Basically Pac-Mania but through Pac-Man's eyes, all in a 3D view, quite good actually:

I'm not exactly offering a suggestion for what to port next but a while ago I started a thread suggesting an adaptation of Allen Breed 2 to turn it into more of shootem-up or top down 2d version of Doom as follows:
Supposing the layout of the power-ups and weapons were scattered around the level more like Turrican so you didn't have to break from the gameplay to "purchase" different weapons. And perhaps a bomb/energy blast type seperate weapon like Turrican's powerlines would be cool for when you get swamped. I think that would change the style of the game considerably but still be great fun. Would that be a project that might interest you? |

@Damien
Thanks @jotd I have looked really quickly, and it seems to me that "Classic Pacman" is somehow almost perfect arcade port to Amiga, already. I don't know that game so much, so I could be (very) wrong. Quote:
But definitelly YES! Kudos to all these peoples! Please reconsider Wizard of Wor (I always thought it's "War"... what "Wor" means anyway)? |

"Wor" is the fictional kingdom in the game. You are a "worrior" and have to kill the "Wizard of Wor".

Well, I guessed it's something like that.
Imagine these days anyone wants to make: Call of duty: Bring on the Wor!" I guess, all of the (suited) marketing team would have a heart attack. Damn, I am old. |

Classic Pucman is very good, faithful and all, but I have to play again, cos I'm pretty sure the gameplay is different from arcade pacman.

Amazed that Axelay and Raiden II didn't get more votes. Possibly because people don't think the Amiga could do them justice (I'd be inclined to agree).

I'd say it's possible on a stock 1200 with some clever coding, especially around a capable sprite multiplexer. But it seems like a huge amount of work to get this going. |

yes, huge amount of work. and don't forget about the decoding of the arcade code to get the sprite lists as well and the IAs, etc.

I seem to recall a half-finished demo of one of the Raiden games for AGA Amiga's floating about a few years ago. Started back in the day to be an official port, but canceled because of the lack of an Amiga market.
But this is my memory speaking, so I could be very wrong |
