No, i always have 2 active floppies empty on my systems (DF0 and DF1) but as mentioned if the archives contain executables or floppy images these are diverted to the floppy port. You can start WinUAE with an archive if it contains floppy images or executables that will naturally need a command or a startup-sequence, see video.

Yes, that's a funny feature of WinUAE, something for Toni to care about ...

But I can still not replicate the problem with the disappearing txt files when I drag a Windows disk onto the WinUAE window. Can you post your WinUAE config? Maybe another strange Double-Drag feature?

To replicate you must use OS3.9 and your archive "IconLib_46.4.487.lha", if you use OS 3.1 you have to drag twice "IconLib_46.4.487.lha", of course you will need to have two active floppy players (DF0, DF1).
i attach video (test OS 3.1 standard)

No AMIGASYSTEM, the floppy problem is already confirmed.

I can't reproduce the Txt file problem yet. Does it also happen if your make a cold start WinUAE with 46.4.487 ? Why are you still using beta6 and not the final 4.0.1 ?

Another example, if active 4 floppy drives on winUAE , 4 executables will be shown in the 4 readers, see video

Nice, so if you have an archive file with 4 ADFs you can load all at once by double-dragging.

Peter the problem could also be linked to spaces, if i remove the spaces to the file "Nuovodocumentoditesto.txt" is displayed correctly, while "NuovoDocumentodiMicrosoftWord.doc" it is not displayed.

@hexaae
Please try the new alpha version. I've disabled UpdateWorkbench calls now as long as there is no Workbench task running. Maybe that can avoid opening Workbench at system startup, too ?

No, your filenames with spaces are displayed here, even with 487.

It's nice if 488alpha fixes your problem, but now I still don't know what the reason really was.

Still the same unfortunately…
All other bugs with filename length, renaming, creating icon etc in RAM, appicons (FileX, PPaint etc.), moving icon leaving gfx glitch... solved.

The other problems were solved because it was based on 487e and not 487f(inal). Sh:t, that this attempt with disabled UpdateWorkbench didn't work, because that would have been a better solution. The next beta will be based on my previous idea... soon...

(btw, there was a small bug in 487e and 488a, nothing serious, but better delete it)

With 487 i used OS 3.5 and 3.9 standard, your OS 3.9 could have some changes to the system files

icon.library.46.4.488beta -> Ok no problem

No, not to the filesystem, it's all based on Windows directories, no HDFs.

The problem was also present on Filesystem Amiga (tested HDF FFS)

I was not referring to the filesystem but it has the files and libraries of the system

Sorry, tired eyes ...

Confirmed, with a standard OS 3.9 BB2 the disappearing txt files started with 487f(inal).

I hope that 488beta works for hexaae now.
