tried downloading the full install package from Amikit site but can never get past 14 or so MB? is there any other link I can try to get the download?

also, my SYS: partition is only 200MB total as I only ever put WB files in it so was wondering if this will be a problem with installing Amikit-Real ?

Hi. It works right here (http://real.amiga.sk/downloads.htm). I've just tried and downloaded 150 megas just to try. You can't install it with 200Mb, (the web says the file has 253Mb compressed) better take 800Mb for the first partition and use PFS3AIO.

Hello, my name is Oliver, I am from Germany. and I have a few questoins regarding this nice piece of software:
is there a way to mute all GUI sounds at once?
How do I turn off the "prefs-windows" backgrounds? I couldnt find it either
in DOpus nor in WB Prefs
Startup sound is turned off in the Startup-Seq.?

To get to the control of the sounds events make a right click on screen, Settings, Environment, Sounds Events. You can turn the volume of them all to 0 or if you never will use them just delete them.

It's also in the same console of the Sounds Events, so right click on screen, Settings, Environment, Backgrounds, Windows.

Do you mean that you want to turn it off? Yes, in the s-s (right click on screen, Opus, Execute Command, write Ed S:Startup-sequence) you will see a line "Booting music". Put a semicolon in the line that hasn't.

I've already told about all the startup sounds, they are there and the booting music on the s-s.

What you say about the buttons is changed with the GUI, so you would have to search another theme with MorpheuZ, Classic Themes. You are lucky because with the new update I'll be introducing 6 new ones. I'm using a different GUI with them. Do you like it?:

Edit: Or perhaps are you talking about the MUI preferences; the background ?
Edit2: Yes, I see you talk about the grey/black thing. You should change it with the MUI preferences (Edited: No, Reaction prefs).

Yeah, thats nice

You should really change that background, though! (where to find that Prefs?)
May I create one?

BTW: cant find any entry in the S-S for the "Holodeck"_sample

+ the MUI Prefs wont open

It's with the MUI settings (Edit: No, Reaction prefs). But you know for real it isn't so bad like in the photo. Don't know why in the photo is almost illegible, but for real it isn't at all and I like it.

Sorry but I don't understand what's the Holodeck thing you say. The booting music says so, ";Booting music".

The MUI prefs do open. Open AmiKit:Prefs/MUI and wait some seconds.

to the AmiKIT +version logo...

I told you that the sounds are on Environment, Sound Events. The startup sound is called Startup in the list.

Ah, OK, didnt know that it was part of DOpus...

Any idea about the MUI issue? I waited one minute and it still wont show
I also found out that some applications or Prefs just wont open.
For example, when I start Eagleplayer, it wont appear - whenI clickl it again, i get the message that
it's already running...

Sorry, no, it isn't what I thought. With the live update 1.6.7 it was introduced an update for NListview.mcc by Open Source Team that gives problems, for example if you try to open WookieChat. I will fix that with my update and also the 1.6.8 will do, but I've tried and it isn't that. All the programs you say should open, so you surely have changed something.

And I must find a nice voice for the startup, I know, but nobody wants to make one for me -and I thought Holodeck was written other way-.

Hm, but what could be more safe than installing OS3.9, BB1, BB2 and then the AmiKIT?

Yes, the process is easy... but that should take you to a working system. Read my PM.

Edit: That background isn't changed with the MUI prefs, it is changed with the Reaction prefs, Backdrop Pattern, later Test (you'll see you've got a lot to choose in Patterns).

Edit 2: And it seems to me you had some problem downloading the file from the web, and that you don't have the programs but just the icons there.

Edit 3: Do you preffer this?:

Now somebody give me a female voice with reverberation saying "Welcome to AmiKit Real"

Edit: PM received and permission granted to post it:

I also tried to make some backgrounds, may I send you an email with these? What kind of Monitor devices have you installed? Are those like
"safety" CGX drivers? Anyway, with WinUAE, I set
the colors to 256, but I have the feeling that some
icons or pictures still look like they use less colors.

Do you think it is possible to release an unmodified
version of AmiKIT for real AMIGAs, concerning the
Environment/Theme?
Glad to know it is working, yes always improving and you've got my mail by Pm.

The icons aren't remapped, you must have a preconceived idea (or you are just comparing the RTG Amikit for PC -16M colors- with a 256 colors one), but the images of some programs are. You can for example copy the programs from the AmiKit for Pc and you've got a drawer with Wallpapers to use with 256 colors.

If you want the original themes you just have to go to AmiKit:Prefs/Presets/AmiKit, and copy and substitute the full MorpheuZ drawer from the AmiKit for PC. If you want more colors with WinUAE you can use AmiKit for Pc or my RTG plug-in.

The CGX monitors is the result of using the CyberBugFix patch; that emulates a graphic card to save memory.

Ah OK...

Hm, anyway, do you think it would be possible to release a kinda
"untouched" version?

With "untouched", I mean: take the AmiKIT and make it run on a real AMIGA,
but without customizing anything.

Make what I've said: use the original MorpheuZ. They won't look so good, but if you want to have it like on the Pc you need a graphic card. Use my plug-in and you'll have a nice setup. I haven't improved the plugin to make a complete RTG version because it would take a lot of time and I try to make things for the Real version.

Anyway my latest Themes for the next update (that I sent you yesterday) aren't thought for 16 colors. They look much better from 64 on, and I haven't seen better ones than mines . BTW don't trust on the preview of Morpheuz, install each one and try it.
