I have an Amiga 500, and have pre-ordered the ACA1220 through amigakit.com, but I cannot find the ACA500 for sale/pre-order anywhere. Can someone point me where this can be purchased?

We will stock it but are awaiting confirmation to add it to our web store. Thanks.

68030 datasheet (UM - same as above, but for the new processor) Xilinx XC9500XL datasheets 256MBit SD-Ram datasheet (this is a Micron type - Micron has the best datasheets and is best to learn from, and once you've understood how SD-Ram works in principle, you can start to read other vendor's datasheets between the lines). This is of course just my choice of components - if you want to design your own accelerator, you might find different parts that suit your way of engineering much better. Jens |

Jens and his work
Hello everyone I'm just a new guy around here but have been with my 500 since 1987.Use it most days.
I just read this whole forum and am thrilled to say the least. My day wasn't looking too bright then bam Jens first post (in this thread) and I'm flying. Wow....OK wow again. Are we just the luckiest guys on the planet to have people like Jens out there working away for us and getting results. Man if I could just do something for you Jens to show my appreciation. I'm starting by buying 2 of everything I need at these prices we really just cant loose even if this time around its a dud the point is to keep him in the game and we all win. Hopefully some of you guys out there will see my point and do something similar....... I can really use more days like today. Once again a very big Thank-you Jens to you and yours. Jeremy |

Yes, Jens, and other enthusiasts are producing some remarkable hardware. The ACA500 , and similar parts is going to breath new life in to old Amigas that so far has been "less enthusiast inspiring". Lets face it. The A500 in it's many flavors are the most common Amiga, but has been the least supplied with upgrades. This might be a real adventure starting a new.

What sorcery is this!?
Sorry if this has been covered already but I was talking about these cards the other day and it was pointed out to me that normally an ec020 only has a 24bit address space of 16Mb and yet the ACA1220 is coming with 128Mb RAM.
Anyone care to guess, (or perhaps reveal), how this is achieved? Maybe this is partly why the card will have a fairly modest MHz rating compared to the 1232 which will require no monkeying around with the address bus. |

New ACAtune V1.7
Hi,
this version of ACAtune supports all the new cards and fixes a few bugs for the older cards. A year-old bug that would not find any accelerator in certain A1200 boards has been fixed, and new options for the new cards have been added. We could not test this version with ACA1230-28 and ACA1230-42 - please report back. Successfully tested with: - ACA1230-56 - ACA630-25 - ACA630-30 - ACA620 - ACA1231 - ACA1231LC - ACA1220 - ACA1232 I have finally found an A1200 board that has the trouble of "could not find ACA card" (would only find card ID $f, which is "no card"). This was actually a software bug that has been in ACAtune since the very first release. V1.7 fixes this bug and finds the accelerator even in those flaky A1200 boards. The "could not allocate kickstart memory" bug that occured with the ACA1230 is also fixed, but we could only test it with ACA1230-56. Jens Last edited by Schoenfeld; 20 August 2013 at 22:43. |
