Am I missing something? I can't buy it there.
Anyway that misses the whole point, but that's no longer surprising.

At the end of the day, the courts need to get their crap together and issue some final rulings about who owns what so we can move on. I have been an AmigaOS user since my first A500 in the early 90s. Personally, I think it is ridiculous all the fighting over AmigaOS. No one is going to get rich off from it. The continued legal fighting will not end well for the Amiga. None of the current "companies" fighting for rights to AmigaOS have the best interest of the OS at heart. They are in it for whatever last bits of money they can squeeze out of it before ripping it to shreds and selling off bits and pieces.

Again, you can blame all the idiots who think EAB is anywhere near as bad as the Apollo team; and are constantly saying that The Zone! and EAB File Server host still for sale software...

Ok, now I get it - you have an personal aversion to the Vampire and try to hide it behind the legal discussion - very mature.

And after all you are throwing shit against people who explain you the legal situation.

Same here and agree wholeheartedly, but it is the nature of the small user base beast. There are not enough AmigaOS users to support free upgrades as long as the three main AmigaOS "companies" continue to believe that the OS will bring them riches and power.

Nope, couldn't care less about Apollo or Vampire...

...and just because I have absolutely no interest in their rubbish product and wouldn't waste my hard earned money, does not mean I have a personal vendetta.

Get real mate!!!

Truer words never written. Wake me up when the OS 3.9 license holders squeeze any money out of the illegal 3.1.4 distro developers. I'll wait, or maybe I'll be driving a snowmobile through Hell when I get the email...

Why would anyone from EAB care what goes on in another site/forum ?
Are you the copyright holder?
Why are you trying to police others is completely beyond me.
Nobody is forcing anyone to buy a Vampire, or, god forbid, download Coffin.

I'm still trying to understand the point of this entire thread.

I must say DamienD, to extend an olive branch, I do appreciate your sentiment, concerns, and point of view. However, I personally do not see any value in this conversation, or any value in attacking people who still actually produce something for the community.

this story 3.9 / 3.1.4 reminds me of the release of os4 when morphos already existed

I think you're wrong, OS3.9 is the most stable and complete Amiga system there is, you can tell by the people who have been using it for years.

You can read the thread title, so you know exactly what this thread is about.

What the Apollo team have done / are doing is completely wrong, simple.

I'm trying to understand why I'm being attacked from all sides. EAB and myself are not the bad people here...

Yet you guys keep diverting the discussion away from the Apollo Team and onto EAB.

Well done, good job and you should all be proud!!!

k, i will chime in, if something is not for sale any longer it doesnt mean that the author has given up his rights. What is the legality of me posting all the schematics for the vampire board, i didnt sign a confidentiality agreement. I have not passed it on as i respect the authors work but it appears that other people do not respect the work of others by cashing in on the work that they have done!

Exactly, AMIGASYSTEM which is why so many applications *require* 3.5/3.9 to even run correctly, or at all.

It's probably the most worthless bunch of drivel ever posted on EAB. It doesn't matter whether you sell someone else's software or provide it for free on some unnamed FTP site, and it doesn't matter if it is a complete OS or a little file and disk utility, the legal license holder suffers from "Lost Revenue."

If you own 3.1.4., the legal Amiga license holder (the developers of OS 3.5/3.9) has filed a claim in Court that the money you paid for 3.1.4 should have gone to them. I wish them the best of luck in that endeavor - as I wrote earlier, I'll likely be riding a snowmobile through Hell when I get the email.
