The Amiga Future gets packed and shipped a few days prior to its actual release date. So, we need any change/correction to your address to be passed to us before we dispatch it, and in any case as soon as possible.
Bear in mind that: Usually requests to forward on mail will not be handled with such mail items, i.e. magazines!

We also ask that you check that your subscription fee(s) are current and up to date, i.e. already been paid, as some, in fact quite a few, subscription fees are still not currently fully paid.

Amiga38 special issue: Appeal to all programmers

Amiga38 special issue: Appeal to all programmers

On the Amiga38, as on the Amiga37, there will again be a special issue of the Amiga Future, which every visitor to the event will receive free of charge at the entrance.

In addition to a floor plan, information about the exhibitors, vouchers, etc., we want to publish a special area in this issue where programmers can present their programs/games.

We are particularly concerned with programmers and their works, which you rarely hear about on news sites etc., but are important help for many users.

For this purpose, every programmer receives 4000 characters (not words!) from us in the special issue, where he can present his work to the users in his own words. The text should be available in German and English.
Don't worry, we'll help translate if necessary. But we basically leave the lyrics as they are. Ie. Don't just clap a few lines, take your time. And pay attention to the spelling. This is about your software.

The rules are simple:

- Deadline for submission is August 1st, 2023 via email to Andreas@amigafuture.de
- The sooner we have the text, the better.
- The German and English text must each be 2000 characters long. So a total of 4000 characters.
- Please send the text as a pure ACSII file. (file size = number of characters)
- The text must have a source for the software at the end (e.g. Aminet Link) and of course the name of the programmer.
- It is of course also possible to submit several ideas about different programmes/games.
- The age of the program does not matter.

The space in the special issue is inevitably limited.

That's why the program presentations that reach us earliest and are best written will be given their place first in the magazine.
Of course, all other performances don't end up in the bin. These will then be published on our homepage and/or the Amiga Future CoverCD.
So nothing is lost.

If you have any questions, and how will there be, just write an email to Andreas@amigafuture.de

And since the Amiga Future turned 25 this year, we rafled among all participants 1x Amiga Future annual subscription with CoverCD.

ASM returns

ASM returns

The ASM (Aktueller Software Markt), a popular GERMAN computer magazine in the late 1980s, is still revered in retro circles today. It has recently made a comeback after a 28-year hiatus.

In 1986, the ASM magazine covered almost every important computer system, including the C-64, Spectrum, Schneider CPC, MSX, Dragon, and Enterprise. The 16-bit Atari ST and Amiga were also included, starting in 1987 and finding their way into households. However, by 1995, the PC had become dominant, and there was no longer a market for multi-platform magazines. Nowadays, there has been a significant change, as old computers that were once abandoned or thrown away in the 1990s are finding new admirers. Every year, more games are being released that surpass expectations and bring out the best in these systems.

A German magazine that used to accompany home computers during their success in German living rooms is making a comeback. The new issue, 3/23, aims to provide an overview of the current 8-bit and 16-bit software market, just like it did in the past. However, the new ASM is more than just a software magazine. It also pays tribute to the old ASM editions from the 1980s. There are plenty of interviews with former editors, which offer interesting insights into the daily work of software journalists at that time.

The old guard was pleased with the project. "I am thrilled that the previous format has been reintroduced and executed so well," states Manfred Kleimann, the former editor-in-chief who created the magazine's concept in 1985 and provided input for the new edition.

The latest print edition can be found at https://www.amigashop.org, which is home to popular Amiga magazines like "Amiga Future" and "Amiga Joker" as well as the computer magazine, "LOAD." This 100-page special edition costs 8 euros and requires an additional fee for shipping.

Amiga 38 special issue: Events overview

In the regular editions of the Amiga Future there is always a calendar of events on the first page.
This calendar lists all dates that could be important for Amiga users.

This list of events is based on the calendar that has been on the Amiga Future homepage for many, many years and is currently being highlighted.

Now we also want to publish an event calendar in the special issue for the Amiga 38. This will of course be much more extensive than in the regular Amiga Future edition.

However, we cannot find all Amiga dates ourselves. Please help us and add missing dates to the calendar.

With the following link you can directly access important dates such as trade fairs, stock exchanges, events, club meetings, Amiga round tables and and and...
enter in the calendar.
The prerequisite is that you are logged in to the Amiga Future webpage. Alternatively, you can of course send us the information by email.
But please always check beforehand whether the date has not already been entered.

Calendar: https://www.amigafuture.de/app.php/calendar/
Enter calendar date: https://www.amigafuture.de/posting.php?mode=post&f=41

Amiga Future special issue for the Amiga 38 is published.

Here is the link to the original report from June: https://www.amigafuture.de/app.php/n...&news_id=41001

We also promised that a free annual subscription to the Amiga Future would be raffled among all participants.

Because of the release of the ASM 2023, the whole thing has been delayed a bit. And a suitable software release is currently being prepared "on the side".
Yes, we are really short of time at the moment.

But now the winner has been determined and has already been notified by us by email.

Of course, more texts can be sent in. But we can't promise at the moment whether there's really room for it.

APC&TCP is pleased to announce that the boxed version of Boxx 4 online shop is available today.

About Boxx 4:

Once upon a time, in a distant land, there lived a little box-like creature named Cubo. Cubo was a happy-go-lucky creature who loved nothing more than exploring his world and find new areas.

One day, Cubo discovered that an evil robotic witch had slowly taken over his home area and was using her army of followers to torture the local inhabitants. Cubo knew he had to do something... to save everyone - and set out on a quest!

Certainly, getting the electronic monster eliminated wasn't easy. The way was blocked with checkpoints, but coins opened the doors magically. It seems even evil watchmen can be attracted by money. Supporters of Cyrce, the robotic witch, might still look after you and will crush you without mercy.

Can you survive and succeed in your mission?

* 14 finest Amiga chiptunes including Jukeboxx
* Lots of old school pixels
* 3 difficulty levels

Amiga Future subscription campaign for more pages

Amiga Future subscription campaign for more pages

Since the last subscription campaign actually worked quite well, we thought we could simply do the subscription campaign again.

An Amiga Future issue currently has 60 pages.

However, we generally want to increase the number of pages in the Amiga Future in order to have more space for editorial content.
There is more than enough for testing. We only need the space for it and of course a few editors and translators as well.

In order to be able to finance this permanently, we simply need more subscribers. Well ... a couple of long-term advertisers for the magazine and homepage wouldn't be bad either, but this is only about the subscribers and the number of pages.

We have calculated the whole thing more precisely. In order to be able to finance four additional pages, we need 25 NEW subscribers. For eight pages we need 50 NEW subscribers.
Ideally, subscriptions with CoverCD.

https://www.amigashop.org/index.php?cPath=41

That's why we started a counter with immediate effect. If we create 25 new subscriptions by the 1. December 2023 , we will have four more pages in each issue of the Amiga Future in the future. With 50 new subscriptions even eight pages more.

And if there are more than 50 new subscriptions ... Well, let's think about it if the miracle should really happen.

You can find the current status of the campaign on the Amiga Future Webpage at the top.

Amiga Future: New full versions online

Amiga Future: New full versions online

The download area of the Amiga Future was updated today. So, you can now find the following full versions online:

Disk Salv 3
Moonbases
Supaplex
Tritus
Zodes

https://www.amigafuture.de/app.php/dlext/index

An overview of the recent uploads and changes to the download database of Amiga Future is also available from this link:

https://www.amigafuture.de/app.php/dlext/latest

Of course we also want to be able to offer you many more full versions online, but to be able to achieve this, for you, we need your help, so ...

We are on the lookout for the Copyright holders for Amiga games and applications.
Do you know of any such person or can you actively help us in our search?
If so, then please contact us by email.

We are looking for extra support in order to revise the full versions download area of the Amiga Future webpage.
In particular, to check whether all those full versions formats (ADF, IPF, WHDLoad, AGA, CD releases, etc.) are complete.
In addition, a short description, in 2 sentences or less, about each of their system requirements and some screenshots need to be created.
If you want to help us, then please send us an email.

Amiga Future is looking for reinforcements

Amiga Future is looking for reinforcements

Seeing as our printed edition of Amiga Future has now been published for over 25 years, we are at a point when we need to massively increase our editorial team for the magazine and also the home pages for our website.
The idea behind this is to relieve the workload on more of our entire team, to better distribute the load amongst all our editorial staff, and in so doing reduce the stress and workload on everyone involved, while at the same time further increasing the magazine's overall quality.

It is all in the hope that the next 25 years will be a little easier for everyone in the editorial team, and even better for our readers.

WE NEED: MORE EDITORS FOR THE PRINT EDITION

* Applications area
* Games section
* Hardware area
* News section

So, would you like to work on a print magazine for the Amiga that has been around for over 25 years?

If so, then just simply contact us by email: redaktion@amigafuture.de

Bear in mind that also (which should really go without saying):

* You should logically own an Amiga.
* Additionally you should also use it, in other words, you should have a user's knowledge of an Amiga.
* Your spelling, punctuation and grammar doesn't have to be perfect, but it has to be basically OK.
* Of course it would be much better if you have previously written reports and reviews already.
* Most importantly you should also have the time to spare, and lots of interest, in using your Amiga.

TRANSLATOR

The Amiga Future is published in German and English, which means that the articles we create need to be translated into these respective languages. Fortunately we actually have sufficient translators for our Amiga Future magazine purposes, but when it comes to article submission, there is a lot of text that needs to be translated in a relatively short period of time. This infamous bottleneck often is the cause of a major amount of unnecessary stress, and we want to solve this problem permanently!

So, we are looking for additional translators for the print edition of Amiga Future.

You should, of course, be able to read and write to a high level in your native language (German or English) and be able to also understand the German, English, or both languages very well.

You need to be able to understand what you are translating: So at least a basic knowledge of the Amiga is definitely required.

NEWS WEB PAGE

The news section of the Amiga Future webpage has grown significantly over recent years, which is still not all we hope to offer, as in the long term, our goal is that all the latest news about the Amiga can readily be found on the Amiga Future webpage. We don?t always have to be the first. We don?t need exclusive news either, but we do want to be able to offer more detailed news online.

Currently I'm mainly concerned with the news on our website. The problem is that I don't usually have the time to spare to add it, and as a result other tasks that are also very important sometimes may get temporarily overlooked or the news doesn't get added as quickly as needed.

Additionally we are eager to encourage new subscribers, yes more subscribers, lots more subscribers, as we definitely want to increase the number of pages we can offer our readers of the Amiga Future, as by increasing our magazine circulation we can also increase the magazine content.
