here is the Video hybrid board version 3 that i designed, hopefully it works

it will need a regular .1" pin strip soldered onto the pads and then it can either be soldered to the motherboard or use a female header strip for easy removal

is that a card edge connector? the original hybrid SIP seems to have the basic 2.54mm/0.1inch pin out?

Looks like the difference from the -01 chip to the -03 chip is the -03 has an extra sync circuit.

I just used pads so that regular pin strip can be soldered onto it, just easier for me to make. the pins will be .1" pitch

I was thinking right angle pins but I understand your idea now

have not had much luck in finding 100mhz crystals to run 50mhz cpu, from mouser/digikey/jameco... ebay has some. but no real datasheets. maybe if your lucky they say 3.3v or 5v or something.. sigh.

do you have an -03 you can strip the black stuff off of, to compare resistor values since you said the bom vs schematic differ... ?? maybe looking at a real one..

I'll just build 2, using the different values and see what happens

I'd like to update my order from 1 to 2 boards please. Just in case something bad happens in the process of populating it.

Thank you.

Hi all,

time for an update of sorts....

It's time to talk about shipping options for these boards to the individual end users.

There are a few options available for sending these boards, some cheapish, and some downright expensive.

the link for rates is here...

http://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/ap...execution=e1s1

Small packet air is the cheapest (and no tracking info & no insurance) at $18.20 for weight of 250gr - 500 gram. I do not know the weight of the

boards so i am assuming that hopefully 1 board and associated packing would be in this weight range.

As the weight of the package increases then the cost becomes cheaper. for example, a 3kg package sent express post to UK to a

group of 8 users would cost $100 and has full tracking capabilities. The 3kg package could probably contain 8 boards so the cost

per board to arrive in its destination country would be approx $12.50 and then of course local customs would try to get their

cut. (customs value would be low) and the boards would need to be forwarded on to the local persons in that mailing group.

mailing options (box dimensions would be approx 16" x 16" x 2")

Priority post... Don't even think about the cost

express post Int'l - tracking number, delivery confirmation and optional Signature option ($2.50). included insurance for $100

and $3.50 for each additional $100

Tracked packet - with tracking number and $100 insurance (remember that if you want the $100 insurance then the item has to be

declared to customs as $100 so expect higher duties). This is only available for max weight of 2KG

small Packet Air int'l - No tracking number, max 2kg package, no insurance available and cheapest of all air delivery options

Int'l surface - cheapest, no insurance, no tracking... verrrrrrrry slowwwwwww. max 2kg package

sample table of costs

weight (Kilo).......express......tracked.......small
........................post...........post.........packet

0.5k.................. $75...........$47...........$18
1.0k...................$75...........$57...........$35
2.0K...................$81..........$70............$53
4.0k...................$122.........n/a............n/a
8.0k...................$186.........n/a............n/a

*** the above rates are for the UK, so your country may be slightly different ***
n/a means not available. Use the Canadapost link i gave earlier for more info

USA should be cheaper...

1kg to USA option are... express post = $36, Expedited = $22, and tracked parcel = $19 (they all have tracking number

If people want to do group mailing then work it out between yourselves and let us know.

I calculate the approx weight per board = 350 grams, but guessing.

I just checked the cost for 50lb box sent to UK using priority post. it would cost $650... for that price i could almost fly

myself there and put the boards in my luggage lol.

If you choose an option with no insurance then i cannot be held responsible if it gets lost in the mail

Are there any parts that absolutely need to be taken from the A1000, instead of readily available elsewhere, or taken from an A500+?

I have a bunch of A500's and really don't want to de-solder anything from my A1000 boards - I'd rather someone else uses it.

The A500 board should have all the custom parts you need.
