Bought a Cortex 8mb unit for the A500. Won't be used, but always wanted one since I first saw the advert years ago.

Just bought a boxed Amiga 500 Screen Gems pack.

The Screen Gems pack was my first venture into the world of Amiga back in 1990, but I had to part-exchange it when I upgraded to an Amiga 1200, not long after they came out.

Now to track down a half meg RAM upgrade.

My wife got me a Pandigital Novel e-reader...
She knows I don't need/want an e-reader per se, but she said she checked around and a lot of people were apparantly having fun hacking it to run Android and she figured I'd have fun with it...
She even got me the white model, as the posts she read seemed to show that the black model wasn't as hackable...

Man, I'm lucky.. ;-)

And I have Android 2.0 on it now...
Will probably play with the unofficial add-ons to 2.0 for it before I play with the 2.2 firmware, as it's a bit unstable still.. or so they say..

Not sure how much horsepower it has for retro-gaming, but will be fun either way...

I bought myself a PS3 Slim! I will get it tomorrow. I cannot wait to enter the current generation!!! Haha.

I already got some games: Prince of Persia (the colorful one with Elika), Heavy Rain (sweet!), and Virtua Fighter 5. I ordered Dead Space, Williams Pinball, and NFS Shift from the $50 Amazon promotion I got for ordering my PS3 from them. I also ordered Mirror's Edge and Lair today from Gamestop for $18.99 together and free shipping (Yay "CAG16", "SAVER", and Edge card discount stacking).

I am looking forward to getting Super Street Fighter IV soon, as well as Uncharted.

But mainly I am looking forward to getting The Last Guardian when it finally comes out.

Ico and Collossus are part of my favorite games of all time. What are my other all time favorites... hmm... in no order Another World, Flashback, Dreamweb, Extase, Gods, Space Taxi, Castlevania Symphony of the Night, Mirror's Edge, Bolo PC (Dongleware), Per.Oxyd, Crazy Machines, Tomb Raider Anniversary, both the original Prince of Persia and Prince of Persia Sands of Time, Wipeout XL, Raiden DX I guess the list goes on and on.

I am also looking forward to downloading Pixeljunk Shooter, Wipeout HD + Fury, Stardust, Pacman DX, Gripshift, Bionic Commando Rearmed and some other games I probably forgot, as well as checking out Netflix streaming on my TV!

I am totally stoked. I hope my head won't explode when that thing gets here

On Monday I bought 12 pairs of socks and 9 pairs of boxer shorts

Still, it's payday tomorrow so I'm hitting ebay for some juicy retro gaming stuff to add to my collection (I quite fancy another A600 so I can add an aca630 and Indivision ECS to see what all the fuss is about )

Obviously I'll post piccies of anything I get that may be interesting (other than the boxer shorts and socks!!!)

Just ordered a new cfcard hdd for my newest 1200.
I am right in thinking the 1200 came in two flavours 3.1 and 3.0, its been ages since i messed around with anything but games?

On Friday I've finally received this from an Amazon reseller.
This is some disturbing author, lot of blood spills, weird buildings architecture, cryptic plot and so on.
A month worth wait.

indeed you are...

Kickstart 3.0 with Workbench 3.0 disks
and..
Kickstart 3.... oh you can guess the rest

i have a Commodore A1200 with kickstart 3.1 rom(s) that i fitted myself, the 3.1 roms came from my Escom A1200, but that has massive problems loading disks (due to Escom using a non-amiga floppy drive and modding it to work with DSDD disks)

HEY! Don't you show some photos?

EDIT: Yesterday I've received a couple of small things: a Blizzard PPC 060@66MHz/PPC@330MHz and a BVision from Stan after selling my B1260

Can we please keep this thread Amiga/retro gaming/similar gaming and computing related items etc in future please. Any OT posts will be deleted without warning from here on in. Thanks.

So I find two options:
Or you don't use to read the "small print" in contracts or you don't find a Blizzard PPC 060@66MHz/PPC@330MHz and a BVision as Amiga related items...

To put it that way as an "EDIT" and with that small print is just 'cause I don't want my wife to know about it. So can you keep it in secret?
And Luman has posted about things he's buying, so the OT post here is yours IMHO (and this now). To add some line of joking while we talk about the matter I think is not OT.

Note: You will see all my post are edited, just 'cause my english is very bad (I've searched small print in Google...)

recently bought a Commodore A1200, came with a Zipstick, and a few boxed games (nothing special)

here i have removed the ESC and Shift key to show the dirt under the keys, plus the case and the keys were not in great condition...

i was tempted to keep this as a bog standard A1200 with 3.0 roms and no HD... but i don't have enough scart sockets, i don't really have the space and to be honest i would clean it and stash it away.. but it wasnt cheap so i decide to swap the mainboards, roms etc etc...

here is a piccy of the C= A1200 mainboard (3.0 roms still in place)

so i remove the mainboard and clean it up, take out the roms from my escom mainboard, fit the C= mainboard in the escom case (its very white), install the 3.1 roms, attach the CFHD, put the escom's keyboard in, re-install bizzard and booted it... it works perfectly

here is a piccy of the 3.1 roms

i cleaned up the keys and case from the C=, installed the escom mainboard... the 3.0 roms were a bitch to get the sockets (kept bending)... put that back together and now thats a spare.. although i swapped the yellow keys from my A600 and now my A600 has a decent set of keys

busy day!

Today I bought an A2630 r9.1 030@25MHz + FPU + 4MB for my Amiga 2000.
$80 for it, works good and it looks very clean according to the seller. Pretty darn good price if you ask me!

I know this board is not the best 030 by any means (29MHz limitation, needs new ROM for kick 2.0+) but it's OK to me... 4MB fast RAM is not that much, but there's a RAM connector on back of the card. 4MB is enough for WHDLoad and AsmOne anyways

Here's the eBay pic of it:
