Are these the same as originally sold as these have a 'cr' in the description?
edit: Forget that, just read it's the DVI connector that's different: "The new version "Indivision AGA MK2cr" uses a different connector for the DVI cable.". Slap me for not reading further up the page!! |

Details for the next generation of Flickerfixers from Individual Computers
I kind of have a need for a couple of models for the A4000D, as well.

Just concerning the 4000T, does the edge connector on the MKII itself still remain the same? If so I guess it will still be possible to use kipper2k's custom HDMI cable which won't require modification of the motherboard?

Is this a good forum for suggesting features? Here's the thing. I have a monitor with optimal resolution of 1280x1024. I configured my output to PAL with no overscan, which means 640x512. This would scale perfectly to my monitor, right? Well, wrong. My monitor is stupid enough to make some blurry floating point scaling although it could do it integer-wise.
So, my suggestion is, as I would believe my monitor is not unique, as follows. Please ![]() With me? Against me? |

There already is such a multiply feature. Just set Hi-Res to SHi-Res (resolution should be then 1280) and activate lines which actually doubles the number of lines vertically. Isn't that what you're looking for?

I think that has been suggested already, but would definately be a nice addition. At the moment it only does 1x or 2x in either direction.

Yes I mean arbitrary integer multipliers (or at least 1x, 2x, (3x?) and 4x, or whatever would be max for the board).
Oh, sorry if this was already suggested and discussed. I haven't scanned through all 56 pages. ![]() |

The new version is smaller, yes, but it's not certain that it fits with the BVision. I don't own one, and feedback from customers who have both has not reached me (yet). If you *require* the unit to fit with BVision, please don't buy unless we have confirmed that it fits.

There are more important things on the Todo-list for this flickerfixer. I don't accept feature-creeping - just like I don't accept having to add screenmodes that are younger than the flickerfixer design (such as SuperPlus). Adding scaling (even of the "simple kind" that was suggested) requires changes in both the core and the config tool, plus testing, rolling out a new set of cores and an even longer list for documentation. That's a good four project days, translating to 7600,- EUR plus VAT, so we end up slightly above 9k EUR for an added feature that's only required because of a scaling bug in a monitor. If you think that's worth it, you're free to provide the funds. There are lots of things we could add to the units that are already in the field - it's just that the people who actually do it need to be paid. Jens |

I think it is useful for more than just 'scaling bugs'. If you want to play games running in 320x256 and have scanlines, it would require a 640x512 resolution, however this is not a standard VGA resolution, so either one would have to resort to 640x480 and cut a bit of the image or use 720x576 and get black borders all around.
However, if it could scale 4x on both axes, it would fit perfectly with a 1280x1024 resolution. This is why I could see a 4x feature as being useful. I realize that it would take time (and thus money) to implement it, and there's other things higher on my wish list, like the Vsync feature. That being said, I think the MkII is very useful as it is now, and gaming will never be perfect on an LCD monitor anyway. Since my monitor has 1200 lines, I might as well use 720x576 for PAL which works fine for me, and probably gives as good a picture as 1280x1024 would. |
