Oh, I see, thank you for an explanation regarding format.
As for debugging (IDE + floppy), it'll be my pleasure to help with tests, please send me a private message when there's proper time for you. |

Hello Everyone in new year 2018!
I see that new version of EmuTOS got deployed, is floppy disk drive support fixed for Amiga? From what I remember, the problem appeared first in 0.9.8 and previous versions were fine. |

Happy new year!
Indeed, EmuTOS 0.9.9.1 has been released recently, but it does not contain anything new regarding to Amiga (due to lack of time). I plan to fix Amiga-specific bugs for next release. |

If you are unfamiliar to Atari ST Operating Systems, you can have a look at my foss-north 2018 presentation. You will learn many things about EmuTOS, FreeMiNT, and much more. Subtitles will be available soon.

It's been awhile since I played with EmuTOS on my A1000.
Are you still not allowed to distribute the binary with floppy and HD support? Thanks |

Nothing's changed in this regard in the latest release. you still have to compile EmuTOS yourself with FDD support. Problem is, that it got broken in latest version and doesn't work (already reported earlier in this thread), so hopefully next release fixes FDD support for Amiga.

I've seen the new version of EmuTOS has recently come out.
Any fixes in Amiga floppy drive support, please? |

I plan to make some work on EmuTOS for Amiga this year.
But strangely, I have no trouble with floppy on my A500+ (and WinUAE). Both real floppy drive and Gotek (with HxC firmware) work fine. |

Hi, I'm glad to announce the release of EmuTOS 0.9.12. It is available there :
https://sourceforge.net/projects/emu...emutos/0.9.12/ The key feature regarding to Amiga is that I got rid of all AROS code. And I have rewritten all AUTOCONFIG and Fast RAM support with new GPL code. As a result, there is no more license issue. Official Amiga binaries are now full-featured, there is no more alternate set. This is a big step forward, as all the new features and bugfixes will immediately be available for users in snapshots and next releases. As always, EmuTOS is provided in both ROM (MapROM'mable) and floppy variants. Special versions optimized for Vampire V2/V4 are also provided. Regarding to the floppy issues reported here, I indeed noticed some problems on my A500+ setup. While the real floppy drive always works well, I sometimes get read errors from Gotek. I will investigate that later. Certainly a little but annoying bug. I have good hope that this will be fixed at some point. On the other hand, IDE support (with FAT16 partitions) is supposed to work perfectly, for both read and write. The is no known issue. Oh, I forgot a new important feature: Vampire V2/V4 SDCARD is now supported! Enjoy Last edited by BlankVector; 18 October 2019 at 14:47. |

With the new version, floppy drive finally works correctly on my ACA500-equipped A500+ - great, thank you!
I only can't force EmuTOS to see HDD on ACA500 CF-slot, which is said to be A600-compatible... Any clue? |

Ah! I'm glad that floppy works well for you. But that's quite strange as I didn't change anything significant in that area.
About the hard disk: - Either there is a hardware issue, and for some reason EmuTOS doesn't see your IDE port. Maybe Gayle detection fails, or something like that. - Or there is a partitionning issue with the hard disk. EmuTOS for Amiga requires a disk with a PC MBR parition table (not Atari, not Amiga RDB, not PC GPT). And it only supports FAT16 partitions (up to 2 GB). If everything looks good for you, I could send you a debug EmuTOS version to understand what happens. |

To be honest, I don't know, in the last few versions somehow there was a problem, even though at first it looked like drive A was correctly recognized, it still mostly didn't work and produced lots of errors on read attempts, sometimes displaying given directory, mostly not. With the newest version the problem is gone Quote:
I made sure it's not CF-card issue, I used 2GB one that is formatted under MS-DOS 6.2, FAT-16 partitioned with C and D and works correctly with my retro-PC. I tried different settings on ACA500 menu, too, but it's still not recognizable. If you could provide debug version of EmuTOS, please, I'll be glad to re-test and present the results |
