I can't save date/clock settings in Workbench prefs! The same bug appears in WinUAE 1.4.6 but in WinUAE 1.4.4 setup works.

EDIT
Sorry, it's my fault. I've used old configuration file from WinUAE 1.4.4 under 1.4.6...When I've created new configuration file, everything works OK...

More Picasso96 speed testing..

Run attached test version with following command line parameters and check p96speed results (RectFill() test is good enough, no need to run other tests)

-ddforcevram
-ddforceram
and without parameter
also compared with 1.4.6 if possible.

(frameskip setting is now ignored again)

Thanks.

Argh... I guess I need to implement timing test and select the fastest option automatically.. For example on my test PCs VRAM option is faster..

vram = display card ram

It seems some cards are slow when doing cpu writes directly to vram but also have quick system ram to vram blitter copy support.

If you mean hires (lores is ok) hardware cursor has one wrong color: not an emulation problem. (and already discussed above)

What do you mean by filters?

I also had problems with the wrong color being used with a hires mouse
pointer in combination with the latest winuae beta.
Then I remembered some time ago I changed some tooltypes
in the uae monitor settings file. I restored the default values being used
in amiga forever 2005 and then restarted. After that my mouse pointer showed the
correct colors again. The tooltypes which are used in AF2005 are:
boardtype=uaegfx
softsprite=yes
ignoremask=yes
The rest is not used.
The only picasso96 env variable being used is planaronlydipfdbuf which is set
to yes.

Hope this helps.
Regards,
Lloyd

Ps Thanks for the new updates Toni.

I've been having a problem using beta 9. Its happened to me a few times now but I can't 100% pinpoint why it happens. Basically the bug has occured when playing a game in windowed mode. First it happened when playing Fantastic Dizzy CD32. If I attempt a switch to fullscreen mode, instead of switching to fullscreen, WinUAE just decides to hide itself. Using Ctrl-Alt-Delete you can see that the executable is still running in the background but its just vanished.

This happened to me again (about 10 minutes ago) when I was playing a HDF game in windowed mode. First I changed the resolution setting from 800x600 to 640x480 and then set the fullscreen option. When I pressed ok WinUAE just disappeared but was still running in the background which I had to close down using Ctrl-Alt-Delete.

UPDATE:
I can recreate this bug everytime now. It definitely occurs when switching from windowed mode to fullscreen. The bug only happens if you change the resolution setting first and then attempt to switch to fullscreen. Just changing to fullscreen from windowed mode works ok - Its when the resolution is changed first!

Read beta changelogs: Do not use ogl/d3d until they are updated.

Ok, you mean -ddforceram is still fast? and --ddforcevram is even faster as long as agp fastwrites are enabled?

Beta 10: (attached, winuae.net is still broken, don't ask me)

- MOVEM is not weird in debugger anymore
- JIT RAM allocation failure path fixed (if Z3+RTG RAM fails to allocate, lower amount of RAM automatically and try again)
- limit internal sprite resolution to current display resolution (setting in display panel), should improve performance slightly in AGA modes if lots of sprites are used and display isn't shres
- harddrive detection crash if returned STORAGE_DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR was shorter than expected
- disable hardware sprite if uaegfx.card is old version without hardware sprite support and devs:monitors/info has softsprite=no
- adjusted DirectDraw surface allocation parameters, perhaps helps with P96Speed differences
- added -ddforcemode <mode> command line parameter, if you have slow P96Speed results compared to 1.4.6, try mode values from 1 to 3 and report results.

EDIT: it is -ddforcemode

I haven't downloaded/tested beta 9, but with this beta 10 the test draw() in high resolutions isn't anymore so ugly slow. It's now a little bit faster than 1.4.6.

Some tests are still slower. The ddforceram modes doesn't change much in the results.
