@8bitbubsy Might I ask to add any kind of visual clue of being in "edit mode", besides turning cursor into blue color? It is quite usual to keep that cursor outside the program window but then I have no idea if notes are written into pattern or not.
Maybe also any kind of pattern commands coloring would make easier to look on commands? PATTDOTS=TRUE is ok, but could not replace "---" in notes columns. And also not to put dots where zeroes where already blanked? I mean when BLANKZERO is set to TRUE. Don't know, but more like that maybe? |

1) It can definitely not be placed there, that will block the status text (it can be longer than just "ALL RIGHT", try pressing CTRL+B for example). I don't have any better idea on how to fix this problem.
2) I like it better as it currently is, to be honest... The whole point of this mode is to reduce noise and make it more clear, though I do see that it gets a bit difficult to know where to put notes and samples, but I think you'll get used to it. |

1) it doesn't have to be there. It was just loose mockup. It even doesn't have to be it. any kind of idicator like:
- turning red square pattern cursor to green (or else) - adding some kind of border to pattern frame (or something less) - actually any dot anywhere on the screen or even on window border. There is gray cursor icon in the right upper corner - maybe you can turn blue like main mouse cursor then? etc. 2) For me the most pattern clutter comes from commands column becuase they are hard to distinguish amongst the pile of zeroes. I think at least different colors for actual commands would make reading them easier. There is also another issue that doesn't exist on Amiga or when only in fullscreen mode. If you click inside Protracker window in pattern area (to make window active) Protracker enters into pattern number input mode. Being able to disable that would be good for navigating between system Windows because most of the cases this isn't something I like to do. It would enough to click on actual pattern number square if one wants that. |

You're right, apparently I'm allowing a mouse click to happen even if the window is not in focus, I didn't know that. That's very bad UX, and I'm going to fix that and upload a new version.
For the other suggestions, I don't have the motivation to do anything about it. I've worked on the PT2 clone since 2010, I'm quite tired of adding new things. |

I see. Thank you for your work so far then. I appreciate that. PT clone is really handy even with all remnants of it's progenitor.

I released a new version of the PT2 (and FT2) clone where mouse clicks are ignored if the window isn't in focus.

Haha no problem, that request was actually worth handling even though I'm a bit demotivated. I have no idea why I decided to enable that behavior in the first place, I probably checked what other programs did and decided that it's a "standard".

I think that's because both implementations have it's drawbacks. And I think the previous one was actually more intuitive. My problem was that I was often trapped by clicking inside pattern area with intention to activate the window. But that's probably because I'm already conditioned by other programs (like browsers) where I'm doing the same and it works there.
Maybe a flag in the .ini file for picking the behaviour would be possible? |

I don't think I want a config entry for it in the already big and messy config file.

In 'ft2 clone' 4-channel mods are hard-panned (mono). Is there a way to have full stereo?

The only way is to insert panning commands in the volume column (which .MOD doesn't use anyway).

The PT2 clone (and FT2 clone) was updated recently with a fix for audio sampling on later versions of macOS. You should now be able to sample audio as normal.
