Ah dude this is looking fantastic, I've actually owned my SF1 arcade machine since 1991 which I bought back in the day as it was my way of sticking my middle finger up at U.S.Gold/Tiertex for the disgraceful version they released on the 16-bits, sat nicely in my living room.
Was such a great game at the time (6-button cabinet version), each round felt like sudden death as it was so fast and the size of those characters were mind blowing, by looking at your images they look incredible and close to the arcade version unlike the pukey Tietex release. I hope you see this through to the end, there are many of us SF1 arcade fans out there, as like me quite a few of us grew up with it when it was released and was heartwrenched when Tiertex got there hands on the conversions (ZX version was ok as it was fast but sadly lacked music so I decided to add the arcade music to the ZX footage for fun, you can see it here: [ Show youtube player ]). It's about time someone gave the original another go, sick and tired of the ENDLESS SF2 ports, versions, updates etc, that game has been done to death, keep it going buddy, it will be great to see what could have been back in the day if this was released on the Amiga by compitant programmer. One last thing, you talked about tweaking the gameplay, any chance you could include an option for us purists of SF1 where we can have that option to play a version as near to the arcade original without the tweaks?! P.s, I hope it works on real A500 (with 1 meg upgrade), I'd love to run it on my real hardware. Last edited by ZEUSDAZ; 24 March 2024 at 03:32. |

Omfg I just checked out the Amiga version of SF1. That really is a travesty. I get that we have a lot more knowledge etc now.
But that is just a blatant not giving a fuck about your customers and just a money grab as you get. |

You never seen it until now? THAT is the main reason T13rT3x is a cursed name around here

Now you can imagine what it was like for a young kid (me in this instance) eagerly waiting to play it at home then finally purchasing it only to see what Tiertex had did to my beloved arcade game, my thoughts are quite clear in this video and It's BS fake sequel by the same company, SO ANGRY OF THIS CONVERSION THAT IT WAS THE VERY FIRST GAME FEATURED IN THE "SHIT GAME TIME" SERIES AND RIGHTFULLY SO: SF1 AMIGA: [ Show youtube player ] HKM AMIGA: [ Show youtube player ] |

So now we have hit sparks and sound effects also added enemy blocking now its feels more like a fighting game. Still need to implement player blocking. After that I will move onto making enemy ai more modular so it can be used on all enemies then I can move past Retsu.

@Bren_McGuire at the moment this looks like it will require a 2MB ECS amiga using WHDLoad. Once completed I would like to make a OCS version that will run on a 1MB chip ram amiga but it would also still need WHDLoad as the game will be larger then 1 floppy.
