I am interested in buying one of these so I can use a USB arcade stick with my Amiga. Has anybody tried this?
Does the device have any measurable lag? I'm quite sensitive to these things. Thanks |

Huh, I tested an arcade stick at the time, and it worked perfectly https://github.com/EmberHeavyIndustr...atibility-list In general, every HID-compliant device should work, even if not listed above; of course no one can guarantee that yours is HID compliant, but chances are high. Lag is not-existent ..... USB sticks send updates every 20ms, the adapter processes events in less than 2ms each, so the bottleneck (if any) is the stick, in case. If you want to buy one, there's a dedicated thread on Amibay, at the moment I have still 6 available on sale. |

Hey sampedenawa mate.
Are we getting a firmware 3.02 upgrade via email (like the 3.01) as well? |

Yes of course, as soon as it will be 100% complete. Usually I collect a number of improvements and pack them together, instead of releasing a new firmware every week with minor or no changes. Maybe you'll have to wait a little few time to get yours, because I'm still adding things, unless you find any noticeable bug and want to flash the fix in advance In detail, as per today the v.3.0.2 will introduce: * Added support for Logitech G602 * Added support for Razer DeathAdder 2013 * Added support for Dell Wireless Mouse (from set KM3322W) * Added X8 mouse speed demultiplier option to support new 1000 dipi mice * Added support for "Mad Catz" Speedlink competition pro * |

Hey sampedenawa,
Got a small issue that affects my A1200 rev. 2B. This issue does not affect my A600. Sometimes on startup, the mouse wheel initially won't work but, as the minutes tick away, it will slowly start to work. Straight after a cold start, I'll move the mouse wheel and nothing happens. Then, it will move by one position and then eventually, as time goes by, the screen will move more and more positions until it's fully OK. Once the A1200 warms up it's fine. Even if I turn it off and then back on, everything is OK. It's not the adapters as it happens with all of them, and I have also tried a variety of mice. I suspect it might be something electrical. The motherboard has been re-capped and I'm using the more powerful A500 PSU that has been serviced and voltages are fine. I have tried a few PSU's, same issue, so I don't think they're the problem. Any ideas on anything else I can check? My system: Amiga 1200 with Icedrake V4 running Amiga OS 3.1.4 |

Huh, it's a very peculiar behavior I've neither heard of nor experienced before.
I would suspect a bad/way wrong capacitor have been placed somewhere during recap, but it's only a almost random guess. What you can do is run rawkeys (find it on aminet) and look at the notification messages from the mouse. Cold start your A1200, run rawkeys, look at L-M.-R button up/down messages and wheel up/dn messages by acting on your mouse, and see if they are or rather aren't received when the issue occurs. Let's start from here, then we could speculate further ... |

Thanks for the suggestion.
So downloaded Rawkeys and ran it from cold boot. It "seems" the majority of the problem is moving the mouse wheel down. Initially mouse wheel down movement struggles and Rawkeys is not receiving the messages, whereas moving the wheel up is fine. But as the A1200 "warms up" moving mouse wheel down keeps improving until it is fine. From cold boot, everything else about the mouse is fine, i.e X and Y axis movement and LMB and RMB. |

I can speculate your A1200 has a timing issue somewhere, probably due to a mismatched or bad cap.
The way my wheel driver works, it needs a timed sync between VBLANK from Amiga side and the adapter from "mouse" side. It seems that until your machine is not "warm enough" this timing is broken, and the protocol fails. Probably it could be easily spotted with a scope, if I had your machine here with me. To locate the source of the issue is another matter I am afraid. Oh, besides, is it a PAL or NTSC machine ? |

Yeah no worries. It's something I can live with but I might still have a poke around on the motherboard and see if I notice anything.
It's a PAL machine. |

Sorry, not at the moment. I'm starting to gather reservations for a new batch, in case: usually I need a minimum of a dozen/15 reservations to start. At the moment I have 6 (not including yours). I you want to join the club, feel free to declare interest on the Amibay thread (I am pointing you there because here on eab there isn't a populated buy/sell things section) |

HI,
@sampedenawa Reading your BOM from git, and found that you put only ONE BSS138 on the list ... https://github.com/EmberHeavyIndustr...v2.0.0_BOM.txt CRYSTALS-NOGND-HC49 - still 8.000Mhz ??? OK,OK, have now seen the gerbers, and there is ony one BSS138 .... :-) My bad ... seems that the board has changed from 1.0.0 to 2.0.0 version :-) And a question, have some GD32F405 at home (wrong buy), could they be used for this project ??? Hello there ! Of course the board has changed from 1.0.x to 2.0.x, how could I justify the revision number change elsewhere ? GD32F405 cannot be used, though they probably share the same pinout with STM32F105, they aren't 1:1 replacement compatible, sorry |
