Wake me up when someone hits 800MHz. Then I need to add some more possibilities to the library.

@grelbfarlk have you measured how much extra power the rapture is using at 550 and 600mhz? Is the cpu noticeably hotter? Are you using the ramix now as the carrier?

Wow- impressive grelbfarlk !

BTW.

I found little speedup in games.

After changing in Picasso96 settings variable: AmigaVideo from 31kHz to 15kH (AmigaVideo = 15kHz), FPS in BlitzQuake increased from 48.9 to 50.5 FPS!

I have speedup in Quake2 too (now I have 50.5 FPS in first demo, 640x480, G3 400Mhz L2 1MB)

I know about one issue with this configuration. When I'm watching movies in divx in Frogger, I have less smooth video in movies :-(

I haven't measured the power consumption but I imagine it's another 25% at least, probably more. Yes the CPU runs noticeably hotter so yes that's why I switched to the Ramix that has a fan built in.

Also, I built a new version of ScummVM_WOS 1.5. I know it's lame that it's only version 1.5 but this was sort of a proof of concept, now I should be able to build something even newer still. Anyone want to try it? It's too big to attach. It's in the zone. This is just the executable, but if you have say Novacoder's ScummVM dir you should be able to drop it right in.

Isn't this the trick, setting AmigaVideo = 31kHz, for letting AHI use any frequency?

Great work on the 'new' version of ScummVM_WOS! Does it handle Curse of Monkey Island any better than the previous versions?

I live to serve. Going right to ScummVM 2.0 now... That didn't work so well. It's built but it's a lot slower than 1.5. I guess I'll try 1.8 or something next.

Actually can anyone with a Sonnet check to see if it works at all? I apparently left Altivec mode on.

Uploaded new version to the Zone! MP3, Vorbis and Flac are included-to make up for the MT32 emulation being very slow right now. Colors are screwed up, I think it's rendering to 32-bit internally and crushing it down to 16-bit-badly. Will take further talk about it to the WarpOS SDL thread.

New version up without Altivec, now ScummVM 1.8. Doesn't seem any or much worse than 1.5.

1.5.0:

-) It contains indeed altivec code and crashes on non-altivec CPUs
-) Colors are not correct
-) Gfx seem sluggish compared to earlier versions.

+) Sound seems better than compared to earlier versions.

I just now see you want to discuss this further on the SDL thread. My bad.

One important issue that I haven't seen addressed: is there now a snazzy Rapture icon to match the sonnet one?

I tested some mods for OpenBOR, and except mods like Asterix&Obelix, on my Sonnet are working:

1. [ Show youtube player ]

and

2. Guardian Heroes: Warpath

These 2 mods aren't working on old BOR for WarpOS- so, thank You grelbfarlk

After much hard work, Hedeon spruced up SDL for WarpOS so it's a hell of a lot faster. New ScummVM 1.81 WarpOS up in the Zone, works nice and fast with scalers like TV2X, 2XSAI, etc. Enjoy. Another version with the extra engines will be posted too, eventually.

New version uploaded, read the readme. Fullscreen is required on G3 or less. Themes are included and working now. Other little things.

When I run it, it starts in windowed mode, but I can only run in 8bit or 15bit to see at least something in garbled colors. Running in 16bit only blank window appear.
When switching to Fullscreen it freezes for me.
tested on G3 and Radeon Gfx.
Strange it does not read the ini.file upon startup.

EDIT: Now I downloaded the newer b3. I see instructions here. Will check again.

Yeah get the new version.
setenv env:SCUMM=scummvm:
Assign scummvm: <your install path> like DH1:ScummVM_181_wos
Included scummvm.ini will start in fullscreen for G3 and lower.

Now it starts in fullscreen mode, but I only get blank screen and mouse pointer froze. Seems like some strange SDL fullscreen problem.
Will check more later.
