Playing the game for a while (may be over an hour) seems to crash my system for some reason. Anyone else experience this?

I'll download the latest version again.

Also how do I use BlazeWC in conjunction with the game?

true, the game is difficult, but there is a trick: using keyboard it is much easier than using joystick because keboyard seems more sensible and precise in gameplay.
De facto many PC games are great with mouse and keyboard, more playable and driving game much more easy than using joystick/joypad

Forget the BlazeWCP bit, it's already installed and enabled on my system.

Crashed after 15mins today. Seems to be the further I've gotten into the game the more it happens.

There's an easy way to test this. You can start a fresh game in a new save slot to see if it still crashes.

I made another small update. When testing I noticed that the menu cheats didn't work, this was another endianness issue I missed originally. I also tried to make the mushroom drug effect a bit faster. I know it's supposed to make the driving harder, but halving the framerate is not the right way to go about it.

Oh ok, I'm like 4th in the drivers table and quite far in and have been making many saves as I go along. Last saves using the quick save slot.

Last night for an hour and no crash.

So you think I should begin again and take a fresh save slot?

If you had no crashes since then probably not worth the time, since you'd have to back up everything first. Hopefully it'll be more stable from now on.

Looks like a great game! Does the game use 3d-polygons and texture mapping?

It uses both flat and Gouraud shaded polygons in combination with sprite overlays to give some surfaces texture.

With latest version, I am seeing the following frame rates at the following frequencies (PAL AGA A1200 TF1260 128MB)

50MHz - 15-20
66MHz - 19-22
86MHz - 23-28
93MHz - 27-32 (although my system isn't very stable at this frequency - I need a slightly better cooling fan)

Ill post what FPS I get on my Mediator/Voodoo 3 set-up when I can drag it out and set-it up, if interested?

Thanks for testing. I wish it was a bit faster at 50 MHz, but it's getting there. I'd be interested in the Mediator setup as well if it's you have the the time to set it up

Just wondering if anyone has noticed the 5 or 6 seconds delay before the next screen shows after the hard race results screen or maybe it is normal?

Going by the HDD activity LED the game is loading something there, so it probably is normal.

My Towered A1200 specs are;

OS3.9 BB2
Picasso 96 (v3 I think)
Mediator TX+
Voodoo 3 3000
TF1260 + Rev 6 060 128MB Ram

The FPS range seemed similar(ish) to my desktop setup at each of the same CPU frequencies.

However I would be lucky if I noticed the FPS counter going into the higher end of the range more than once during a few laps round the track, it seemed to hover in the lower end of the FPS counter the majority of the time.

(With my desktop 1200 the FPS moved up and down the range, but did seem to sit at the mid to high end more often during a race).

Should that be right? I would have thought it would have been better.

Maybe something in my set-up is not quite right and effecting performance?

I guess the game is mostly CPU-bound. Kalms' C2P routines are close to copy speed, and since most of the drawing is done is Fast RAM, RTG didn't make a big difference.

A1240/40MHz (Apollo), 3.1, PAL - i've got something between 6-11 FPS what makes game a bit hard to play.

Downright impressive. I beat the game in about an hour and was pretty happy with myself. 10 minutes is actually awe-inducing.
