It was sort of set outside, lots of foliage/hedges and blue sky with clouds I think. Very obscure game from the early-mid 90s I think. I think you stabbed soldiers too. A bit more Hampton Court maze than Doom feeling.

It's interesting for sure, though I don't really like the textures on this.
I think the textures are OK though incongruous in places. The bigger problem is that the depth cue is too extreme. Assuming it's a raycaster, it probably would've benefitted from being able to set the brightness and cue density based on where you are. Dungeons should be darker overall, not just fading harder to darkness. It needs some art direction for the UI too.

The only other thing is that the motion is like a slow moving drone. It would benefit from a bit of bob.

What I mean.. we know it's Ham.. so there's no need showing every color in existence. I'd prefer softer gradients, same fake Ambient Occlusion perhaps... something beautifully looking could be made.
Maybe graphically updated Ultima Underworld, or something along these lines.

I don't see why you think Carmack would be interested? We'd be better off drawing Andy Clitheroe's attention to it! At least he took interest in Amiga tech. Carmack didn't see anything special in Jay Miner's creation.
