Filesystem / Database scan not picking up on some games
I have disks labelled like so:
Batman - The Movie (1989)(Ocean)[cr QTX][a](Disk 1 of 2).adf but they don't get added to FS-UAE launcher. I have added the path to the folder to the scan paths and run another database lookup but the game doesn't get added. I tried zipping the .adf files to see if that was the reason but still no change. I notice that this game is in the database. I have experience with XBMC so I'm guessing there is something I'm not doing right with the filename. Or else is a bug. Thanks, Ten |

The scan function is based on checksums, so the filename doesn't matter The problem is either that the disk is [a]lternative (and those versions aren't directly supported by the launcher) or in the worst case this specific disk was marked a [b]ad in a later TOSEC dat. In both cases you'd have to manually create a config with the disk or get a supported disk from TOSEC.

I got a new image and the problem is solved, thanks TCD. I have a *lot* of files that either need replacing or need to be added to the DB. I'll add anything that's not there.
Many thanks, ten |

Is it possible to have the configuration download the covers from the DB then?

Do you mean configurations you manually create yourself, or configurations coming from the database? With the latter ones, you should indeed get covers and screenshots. It is not possible at this point to associate custom configurations with game information from the game database.

I'm still wondering, why some disk images from tosec are not in the database. For example these files from my collection: http://paste.debian.net/plain/75459
Ok, many images are [b]ad or [a]lternative, but some of them look quite normal to me... Edit: If some Linux user wants to test it, here is a script to spot the files: https://github.com/sonnenscheinchen/...kifgameindb.py Last edited by jbl007; 10 January 2014 at 18:37. |

Simply put, because all combinations of multiple version for each disk in a multi-disk set would mean a very large amount of variants. And that is not really feasible when recognizing disks by identity (checksum). This is a frequently asked question, and I'll need to write a proper FAQ on this
