cd32 newbie. mouse, keyboard, floppy games?

hello. i've just ordered a cd32 and it's on it's way but i have a few questions regarding what can/cant be done with the console.

1. i know i need a amiga mouse in order to change the console toggle pal/ntsc but what mouse is compatible with the cd32? or even an adapter to use usb mouse if thats possible.

2. what do i need to connect a keyboard to the cd32? i heard some older games will require keyboard input which leads me to my next question.

3. what can actually be played using the cd32 other than standard cd32 games. i've heard that some older amiga games are supported but i may need to purchase expensive addons for this in order to loads floppy disks. what i was wondering is if there was anyway to load adf game files on an amiga cd32 maybe by burning them to cd, converting the adf, an adapter for sd card loading to replace floppy drive thats if a floppy drive can even be attached to the cd32 without expensive addons.

4. i've heard that some cdtv software is compatible with the cd32 but i was wondering if there was a compatibility chart showing exactly what games are compatible and what game are not.

sorry to ask so many noob type questions but any advice or a link to an all you need to know about the cd32 website would be great. my only previous experiences with amiga is owning a amiga 500 years ago and playing amiga games using winuaex emulator for xbox and both were fun. so i decided to give this fascinating console a whirl and would like to get the most out of it.

any help would be great

I think only 1 or 2 CDTV games are not compatible with CD32.

Any Amiga mouse will work in the joystick port and you need this adapter to use any PS2 Keyboard

thanks for the quick replies guys, the keyboard adapter solution looks cool. one thing though does any retail cd32 games require a keyboard? i know some cdtv games and obviously lots of older amiga games require a keyboard in some way or another. i was just thinking it may not be worth my while getting a keyboard if there is no simple inexpensive solution to play older amiga games. those adapters are like gold dust and very expensive if one is for sale.
if i recall correctly i'm sure i read somewhere that a few cd32 titles were ported badly and still required keyboard input at some point (maybe in game menu screen) despite being ported for game console version. if this is the case maybe i'd best bite the bullet and get the keyboard adapter. also such porting mistakes/lazyness is worth a giggle.

Unofficial CD32 compilations have some games which require typing in highscore list. I think commercial developers knew well about that problem. CD32 should use A4000 keyboard without any adapter but maybe wait for someone with better knowledge.

A2000 and A3000 keyboards can also be used
with an AT to PS/2 keyboard adapter

But the Lyra + Pc Keyboard is prob... the cheaper/better option.

cheaper is good, and if it works well i will go for the lyra. that amigakit site is good fair play. gonna let the cd32 arrive and make sure all is working well before ordering the mouse and keyboard adapter though. thanks once again for the advice guys

I have the setup you describe, a stock cd32 with a a4000 keyboard, mouse+joysticks and the analogic floppy addon. You can definitely choose the keyb adapter, finding an Amiga keyboard can be expensive, and maybe not worth it. Old keyboards have serious maintenace issues, such as membrane corruption, faulty contacts, springs etc.

The compilations made for cd32 is your best option. With the floppy you can boot some old disks, but you should expect some weird behaviour (wont save on some games, wont boot some others even with relokick etc). I guess its more of a novelty item, but it helped me play SWOS 96/97 on my cd32 (without being able to save, but still...)

yeah i have downloaded some of those compilation cds in favor of adding a floppy drive. i also found a cd full of pd games. it has croak on it, i remember playing that on my old a500 and it was a fun little game like frogger. i have to send my cd32 back to where i purchased it from to get some capacitors replaced. the guy didn't discover the sound issues while testing before sale but said he can do the repair for me and it was purchased from a trusted website so all should be good. i was lucky in a way that the console itself is very good on loading cdr games. i've heard some lasers can be picky at best.
