Yeah the domain died in the last week. Maybe it's to do with the legal wranglings with the company that produced the keyboards.

Barry Altman died in December 2012. So, that's probably (hopefully) the end of more CUSA products.

The fact that Barry had terminal cancer could maybe explain some of his outbursts at customers. He was dealing with problems most had no idea about. This is a separate issue than CUSA machines being overpriced crap, which they were. Not a very sustainable business model even if Barry would have stuck around.

I don't think so. He read like any other internet asshole, and his personal attacks on people who respectfully disagreed with him ranged from pathetic to appalling. (Do I need to pull up the post where he impugns a guy's virility and asks prying questions about his sex life in response to a perfectly reasonable question about pricing? I'll do it.)

My whole take on CUSA was Barry did not really want real C64 and
Amiga users..
He was going for all the average users and people that just wanted
his for the display look on there desks..

And he claimed as much multiple times - it was just that he kept ineptly trying to court the CBM/Amiga community anyway, probably because nobody else had any interest at all.

Link it here, I never got to see that infamous post from Barry. II had doubts it was real.

Barry was the most colorful character in the Commodore scene since Medi Ali.

Sure thing:

What I love most about this is that the guy actually answers the question. Real mensch, that one.
