Adventure horroring : Scapeghost from Level 9
Could someone (easy guess who would be that someone ) WHD'fy Scapeghost (1989, Level 9) and/or Time & Magik : Trilogy (1988, Mandarin), plz ?
What is it (SG+T&M) ? Both are text & graphics adventure games, respectively from level 9 & Mandarin (which AFAIK was a Level 9 subsidiary). They bear a seemingly similar parser than the one of Gnome Ranger. Why it's worth WHDf'ying SG (or T&M) INMHO Both are trilogies. 3 games for the price of 1 ! Top bargain if you ask me ! SG being the last adventurer from Level 9 While not as great as the top level 9 ones, it's still enjoyable. Tbh, Time & Magic might be the soft spot here, but the Lords of Time chapter is good on its own. Also, you may be interested to know that (taken from guardiansofthepast.co.uk) : "The trilogy of games that make up Time and Magik started out as single releases on the 8-bit platform. They were then enhanced and brought together for the first time to serve the later more powerful 16-bit machines. Enhancements included the introduction of a powerful new command interpreter, and an extended text which provided a larger vocabulary to expand gameplay." There are much better games out there (Operation Wolf FTW!) Ahem... Sure ! Reload your ammo before you get blasta'd ! Scary (SG) ? Depends. I'll assume some parts are. Cracked ? do I need manual ? SG doesn't seem to bear any manual protection I got the manual and clue book of Time & Magik (it's Ma-giK, with a K) from Replacement Docs SPS'd ? SG : no, but again the game seems to be untampered with T&M : yes, available Last edited by NewDeli; 01 October 2009 at 15:19. |

Please Psygore, there's something I have noticed .
ScapeGhost bears a deemed superior (all other things being equal ) text interpreter, backward compatible with many of the other Level 9 games. Apparently, it's faster at displaying text & could bear other minor undocumented enhancements. Could it be possible to make your Gnome Ranger slave compatible with the
You can try this "at home" : Copy the content of the ADF of Gnome Ranger onto your HDD, replace the text interpreter files with those of a Scapeghost copy. Run "menu" and see the (minor, certainly) differences. Last edited by NewDeli; 03 October 2009 at 00:29. |

Psygore has just finished coding Scapeghost WHDLoad ! He must enjoy exploring the snazzy Level9 interpreter.
My guess is Time & Magik is next in line. Keep'em coming ! |
