The directory must be called AmigaOS3.9 (as per the instructions) and not AmigaOS39, as the directory name is used as volume name. The request to insert the volume AmigaOS3.9 appears, because with your config there's no such volume.

(Alternatively you can keep the directory as it is and override the volume name with hard_drive_1_label = AmigaOS3.9).

The other warning can be dismissed.

Have wrote elowan a PM with (german) instructions to install with ISO image.

I'll write a step-by-step guide with pictures in the next days so everyone can follow the steps to install AmigaOS 3.9 in FS-UAE.

Hi there,

i got some trouble with my powerbook, but i finally installed OS3.9. I did it, the way FrodeSolheim described it. I will test the way of nexusle, too.

But i got some problem:

In ClassicWB for example, i can choos form many different screen-resolutions in "Prefs/Screenmode", like all the ´uaegfx-cards´ - i miss this options right now.

And i just get a blue/grey color-theme, but i choose 256 colors in Screenmode...

I just want the original OS3.9 WB to start up, the way it looks on the pictures, linked in the guide i´ve posted before... but i get a 4 color pallette

And i want to edit:

On startup, i get 2 messages:

1. "System Req.":Intuition is attempting to reset the Workbench screen. Please close all windwos, except drawers.
2. "Cache CDFS": Cannot open "uae.device" unit 1

Copying AOS install CD to host OS directory is unreliable, it can never create exactly right protection flags for Amiga-side files (at least under Windows, most likely same with other operating systems). Just don't do it.

It may look like it worked but some later patch or boingbag may complain or fail to work. And then of course emulation is blamed for me.

I tried the way, nexusle described - and the problems are gone!

Ok, one is still there: The Workbench seems to have it´s own windows with borders, etc... how can i change this?!
And i can´t use "F11" for the zoom-modes anymore "Zoom diablbed in RTG Modus" ?!

Found out myself, that i have to install Picasso96 driver after os 3.9 install, to have more options on screenmodes... so, i´ll continue with BoingBag updates...

Ahhh, thank you very much! Is there a way, to save this setting?

btw: BoingBags Update 1 installed already edit: 2nd part, too!
Seem´s AmigaOS 3.9 + BB1+2 on Fs-uas is working

Sysinfo says: it´s a bit faster than a 68020 and a fair bit slower, than a 68040

Yes. "Window -> Snapshot -> Window"

You should try to set "amiga_model = A4000/040". It could be a bit faster...

Why you use such old PPC Mac?

thanks again, nexusle!

I already set "A4000" I´m running a G4 1.67 PPC 17" high-res Powerbook from 2005.
just for style, fun and i like it more, than the intel Macbook pro from today. Sure, new MacBook Pro is quiete good - but i like my Powerbook, too.

Besides from that, ppc is a lot more save, i think of internetbanking and downloading stuff from websites.... most viruses and malware is intel/x86 only... the ppc is forgotten architecture - but still works for me.

I got a Win7 desktop for serious gaming and "HD-Stuff". Got a iBook G3 800Mhz, equipped with a 16GB PATA-SSD drive... it´s the fastes machine (in terms of booting OS) i own

Only my mac-mini G4 (latest with silent update, running MorphOS 2.1) was faster (like 5 sec)^^ But i sold it.

But like i wrote, my powerbook seems to be faulty since yesterday. It´s a problem with the trackpad-heat-sensor. It gives some false numbers and the system goes to sleep, because it thinks it´s going to overheat (but it´s not)

Tried a software sloution (remove sensor-programm from kernel) - but didin´t work. I checked it, it´s the trackpads sensor, who is faulty. so i must solder it out... thinking of replace the old 150GB hdd wit an 128GB SSD, when i have to open it
