It'd be good to see how different the full version is to the demo version.
And a level editor as well... Should be very interesting indeed. Nice work Joe. |

Well, I just re-read this thread and it would be good to clear up the music angle once and for all?

An unfortunate tale regarding the court case and the state of some of that hardware
All very encouraging stuff however concerning where this may be heading - i rather enjoyed the demo all those years ago and was saddened when it never released - guessed it had been canned Fingers crossed |

The game isn't complete. It's a 4 month old version with various objects on the levels missing.

This would have been one of the few last games i bought and played to completion. It had a good feel to it. The video here shows a great looking game
A shame |

I'm really sorry that it took so long to get videos for everyone...
The video is from a set of disks made up from final graphics and object code that is 4 months behind the graphics. The first set of disks I made didn't boot at all, this is because the disks booted into my dev system - I used to use an Amiga to send object code to another Amiga - so I could remote debug, etc... I opened up the Amiga, as it turns out the Amiga was returned with different hard drives in it than before. There are now two hard drives of a smaller capacity than the 300MB one that it had before! As a result of all this, some files are missing (all source), but the graphics were up to date. I found object code (assembled source code) and source code dated about 4 months previous. I used to send copies to myself of everything, just in case we had any copyright problems. I copied the old object code to the Amiga and made some disks. They booted! So in the video there is new graphics/maps mixed with old code, old baddie positions, old sprite offsets, unknown which version of music, etc... It appears to work fine though (most of the time). I know a bug that was fixed is now back in - if you ran out of time, whilst in the air (on a sprite platform) then the game would crash and scroll to the left until it reached the end (ESC would break out of it). Here is a link to the bigger video... pt1 [ Show youtube player ] pt2 [ Show youtube player ] pt3 [ Show youtube player ] There is one ray of hope for a final version, today I remembered something, when my computers were taken a backup was made by Commodore to CDROM. My solicitor gave me back the disc in 1999 - problem is that I don't remember where I put it! I didn't need it because I had the Amiga itself!!! Hopefully I'll stumble upon it one day. -Anthony |
