IPF and Openness / how to make the source available

For a long time now, and for the last year very seriously, we (at the Software Preservation Society) have been wanting to make the IPF library source code available. We have always believed in making IPF an open format, but we had some issues in actually getting there. Over the years, those issues have disappeared, and now we have the source nearly ready for public release. It is quite unacceptable that it currently is not. Just one problem remains...

The software licence.

NOTE: We will not discuss it right here because this "issue" is not only Amiga related and it does not make sense to discuss it in many different places.
