Moved.
Usual question needs answering: why? "because" isn't acceptable answer |

I second that, but for me not mandatory.
It would allow me to display the Workbench in its 1600x1200 glory on the TFT, and to send the WHDf'yed games / demos on the CRT. Hmm ? Wonder if the TFT would be turned off (black) during the WHDload gaming sessions... |

I don't see how this requires simultaneous rtg and chipset.. Just option to have rtg and chipset in different positions/monitors..

Hmm, the lack of multitasking in most games would render this useless I fear.

As far as I can recall, the only software that ever made use of this setup was the EGS system (by Viona Development). EGS came with RTG drivers for various graphics cards and also drivers for ECS and AGA. It came bundled with many of the earlier graphics cards, mostly famously the EGS Spectrum. I definitely remember running workbench side-by-side with the "EGS Workbench" (EGS only programs, mainly ports of some simple X apps but also a good 24 bit paint program came with the Merlin board).
Unless anyone wants to track down sources for EGS and make a UAE driver, another way to do this would be to emulate a Zorro graphics board with a Cirrus Logic GD5426 chip. I believe Qemu emulates a very similar chip already. Directly emulating a graphics board seems redundant given P96 RTG, although there are some programs like AdPro, ImageFX, etc. which have direct (non-RTG) support for graphics cards. I suppose it would also be useful for those who want to run Linux on WinUAE, as pretty much every Amiga Linux port supported one of these cards. |

Dear Toni, this will be a very very good first step ! After that, Workbench multitasking between Chipset and RTG is my dream... >Hmm, the lack of multitasking in most games would render this useless Yes, but WinUAE is an emulator, so maybe it's possible to keep the multitasking on the RTG side... >why ? "because" isn't acceptable answer Will be very funny... Switching Chipset/RTG on the same monitor is long and boring... And with this option, WinUAE will become the best emulator around the world, and forever... ...and simultaneous screen is possible with Windows XP+ ! lol ! |

I guess it doesn't have anything to do with emulator use, but on real Amiga I also have TV-card in Mediator and I can use it to input AGA modes from the same Amiga. Then I can see WHDLoad games on RTG screen even when they disable the multitasking. |

It is monitor problem. Some LCDs have really long delays like (10s) when switching modes (if in fullscreen) Try full-window mode.

I actually can display on three different monitors at the same time on my Amiga.
A big TV plays a movie, on Amiga monitor a game and on the VGA Workbench.. |

So? It does not answer my question and playing movies in emulation is not really acceptable answer because you can do it much better using native os..

Yet again: why? Nobody needs that kind of "multi display" in emulation.
