Removing a Leaky battery on Turbo A500 512kB trapboard expansion board
Hi.
I need help removing the battery from a Turbo 512kb ram trapdoor RAM expansion board. So I desolder both the +/- leads, then how do I get about getting past the HotGlue that was used to hold the battery on? Do I just tear of the battery? Soldering is not my strong point, but it's a easy project. Thanks in advance |

just melt that glue with soldering iron and battery will snap off, if its already desoldered.
fastest and easiest method is imo: cut battery contacts with sharp pliers heat the glue and remove battery carefully desolder remains of battery contacts suck all solder with solderwick place a new battery, preferably lithium one with diode hack and ive replaced many of them... a500 mem expansion is easiest to do Last edited by Chain; 10 February 2009 at 21:40. |
