Yep in fact ColecoVision and Atari 2600 are public domain now so the games are included in the installation. The other emu's you mention are also included but you will have to download your own games. But hopefully i will include links. il update the site again today with more piccys |

Since when are Atari 2600 and ColecoVision PD?
And most of the games.....are PD? I don't think so. |

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Quote from Gamespot ! Are emulators legal? Generally, yes. In 1982, precedent was set in the landmark Coleco vs. Atari case where Coleco produced an Atari 2600 emulator for the ColecoVision. Even recently, Sony was unable to prevent the distribution of the PlayStation emulator "bleem!". However, there have been emulators that used copyrighted BIOS code internally; those have generally found to have been illegal when distributed with that BIOS. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As for the games i downloaded they were stated to be public domain. however i can check that to be sure Heres the link i used http://xbox-emulation.dcemu.co.uk/atari2600-roms.shtml So please lets not go down the usual road Last edited by synchro; 25 October 2007 at 11:57. |

You gave the impression that all 2600 and coleco games are pd/freeware which is of course not true. And yes emulation is legal, but not all roms are.
The 2600 roms you linked to though are PD so that's ok. |

The link in the opening post is broken.
The others work however, and your site and project are simply awesome. The presentation, just like your previous project, is A* quality. I think it's superb work and a great idea. Glad to see you back synchro. |

Just thinking about this great project again. I take it this is going to a frontend to beat all frontends?
The Emulation Station looks fantastic and I'd love to install this on my Retrobox PC. Going by that flash presentation, I really think this is a great project. Perhaps you're right that merging this thread has killed some of the enthusiasm, because like mentioned above the opening posts link is broken and under the new rules only a global mod can edit old posts.
