Looks great. If it plays well, it will be a nice game. Glad I have a gfx card in my A4k...

Making any sw for a classic Amiga which can be used better under emulation makes no sense. If it can not be used on real HW, then better to forget it. The meaning of Turrican for all classic/retro gamers is to sit in a front of an Amiga, (C64!) but not a pc.

While I agree with you StingRay and Reynolds that a Turrican remake should be playable on a (nearly) plain Amiga, at least this one is actually for Amiga. The last remakes (Hurrican, Turrican 4) were only for PC, so let's call it a step in the right direction

TCD: I'm totally with Reynolds on this one. Turrican should be made for low-end classic Amigas, just like the original. I wouldn't mind an AGA enhanced version f.e. that runs on a plain 2MB 1200. To make a Turrican remake that can only be played with decent speed on emulators and even requires a graphics card (what for actually?) is rather pointless in my opinion.

I can pretty much say 99% that if it requires a gfx card I'll never end up playing it. |

All I can say atm. is that it won´t be a simple Turrican remake.
I also think it´s a good decision to support high end Amigas with highres action titles. |

Since there will be no version for plain Amigas let's just wait for the next one

As said, I know the coder in question and also the quality of his already produced games so I'm entitled to my opinion. Also, what do you expect? That people all go "ahh, cool, great" just because a new Amiga game is being made even though the HW requirements are pretty ridiculous? I'm sorry, I can't find anything to praise here...

You can't even bloody play it yet but you've already made your mind up which seems a bit unfair. As much as I don't like the hardware requirements (or Turrican itself for that matter) I'm still not going to judge it before I've seen it.
It might well end up that I don't like it but it seems pointless being so dismissive so early on. |
