Gunbee / Amibee - What's The difference?
I found an ISO of a game called Amibee online, which looks near identical to Gunbee F99. Is it the same game? What's the story about this then?

Maybe it´s an unofficial bootable version for the CD32?
P.S.: Did you get my pm? |

Have a look here : http://hol.abime.net/2808
It's the same game, but Amibee is the prelease title. I guess the version is the same, but maybe a comparison of the files will reveal if there are differences. |

@ Viddi - thanks for posting the warez
Yep - it's an unofficial CD32 version found here: http://amition.de/game.html I just wondered if this was the full game (ie. the same number of levels as Gunbee, etc.) because the information on HOL is quite limited... it states there are several versions with different names, but not whether they are the full version/prerelease/enhanced, etc. |

I doubt it will be the full game - the PD version of Amibee was only one level I believe. Gunbee is the full game (still being sold as well I think)...

Also the filesize of 1.18 MB doesn't hint at the full game |

Oh well! So I guess I'll have to wait until someone makes the original ISO available... (Amiga Format reviewed it as a CD-based game).

Ah, but is it playable from on disc (on a standard amiga)? If so then I might be able to get it working on a CD32 by recompiling the ISO using the C= dev tools.
Afterall, I'm already able to play Phoenix Fighters on a 2MB CD32 (following a bit of messing around with the C= tools) |

Just out of interest... What exactly is the deal with commercial indie Amiga games from 1996-2000? I've been advised that it's a big no-no to post downloads to the full versions here, but surely people aren't selling these now - and if dealers are then I doubt any of the cash is going to the original copyright owners/coders..!
Is there any group out there actively trying to get these games from the Amiga's twilight years released as freeware? |

You´re right. It´s playable from CD. I just checked the readme. 2 MB is all you need. I´d buy it for 2 (!) Euros. You´ll get a CD case with professional printed booklet and inlay card. |

Cool!
Maybe all you need is to modify the free Amibee version?! Please let us know, mate. |

I've been thinking lately about whether to get the Gunbee CD or not from APC&TCP...... does anyone know if it's enhanced from the floppy version? i.e. animated intro, CDDA soundtrack, etc?

It's a lame Twinbee clone. I have no clue why Amiga Format rated it with 80%. Probably due to the low price while it was shareware.
