Btw KG, I noticed that your newest release of Battlehawks does not have a slow slave... is that likely to stay this way or is there light at the end of the tunnel ??

Hi Oddbod has created a screenshot pack for iGame users which uses the same naming structure as KGs excellent WHDLoad packs.
You simply drag Oddbods unpacked .zip onto your KG WHDLoad drawer and all the screenshots go to the correct folders! KG would you consider including it with the WHDLoad packs? Total .zip size is about 17mb... |

Well I can put it on my files page if you like?
I won't put it on my main page because I don't want anyone asking me questions about it as I'm not the maintainer |

It's better to offer an extra download for this pack. |

So they aren't actually iff images?!?
That's a bit crap surely. Why not just update iGame to use .png extension as it sounds like that's all iGame is doing, displaying png files. |

I agree with you there.
Also, why not create a pack of ACTUAL iff images? They are going to load a hell of a lot quicker than any png images will. Just an idea. |

Should be no problem to convert the pics from Oddbod to real iff files, but i'm too lazy atm. I will try this later.

You can do it easily with something like xnview or irfanview as you probably already know.
Although, you may have problems depending on what your workbench's colour depth is set to. Although I can't be sure because I've never tried it! |

I agree guys iGame needs some work... BUT I am immensely grateful that someone sat down and bothered to write a NEW program for the Amiga!
Right now, despite its flaws, iGame is the best WHDLoad launcher for REAL amigas. Regarding screenies, I think it just looks for a file called iGame.iff the actual format is irrelevant (within reason). I have so many ideas for iGame features, but of course me being a programming dunce I am as useless as a fart in a wetsuit.... |

I totally agree - it's not perfect but the author has done a great job (I reviewed it for Amiga Future)

Btw, just tried playing Seven Cities of Gold. As soon as I try to start a new game it crashes with the following error message:
DOS-Error #205 (object not found) on reading "disk.2" I checked the folder and there is no disk.2 file |

Did you try the alternative iGame libraries with CWB? "If you're having problems with iGame starting (guru 8000000B) try these libraries instead (Thanks to Jools 'buzz' Smyth for providing them):" http://igame.amigahellas.gr/files/gu...nder_nofpu.lha |

Nope, but i got a guru with the screenshots. I will try it, thanks for the hint DDNI.
Edit: No luck, i tried to resize them to 160x128 PNG's, even a iff converted pic crashes. But i can live without screenies for now. Last edited by Retro-Nerd; 11 March 2008 at 21:04. |
