Winuae problems with real HD and floppy images

I have installed the latest version of Winuae, as well as the last full version on a Windows XP machine. I am trying to install OS 3.9. The first step is to make a emergency disk, but it always freezes during format.

Audio is working and I do get sound from it. I have it setup to match an A1200.

Any ideas?

You mean formatting empty adf freezes? (freezes how? emulator or emulated Amiga? F12 still works? Mouse moves?) What exactly happens?

I have heard about similar issues (adf formatting problems) but I have never managed to reproduce it.. It must be configuration and KS/WB version specific problem, I guess..

the freeze occurs about 1/6 of the time, and almost always on 1st attempt, with an emulated amiga.
