The boing ball reminds me too much of the "new" amiga, while the tick has the correct nostalgic feel to it. I prefer the tick.

I have always prefered the Tick, while the Boing Ball to me has always been a little bit silly looking. I know its based on an early Amiga Demo, but to use it as an Amiga symbol.. eerrrgh.

i guess the boing ball was a testimonial kind of sign, while the tick was the logo: the latter says that amiga was (also) based on great graphic and extended palette, starting from is colourful, at the time, OS; the former says that the machine was capable of static and animated fake 3d (as in the demos and othe stuff) and real 3d (ray tracing). this i think at least.

Remember that the Atari ST had a boing demo too - so it's not exactly as Amiga specific as the tick logo.
