Yes, a very handy option it is. In fact, I just deleted one of my threads I accidently started when I was in fact trying to reply to another thread. Wonderous!

AARGH...Problems! (was: well...)
AARGH!
I accidentally pressed the 'new thread' button instead of the 'reply' one, but despite being the author of *this* thread, I cannot delete it! If I reply to myself in this thread I am able to delete this reply, but I cannot delete the thread? Bug? RCK, tu m'écoutes ? :-) ******** PLEASE DO NOT REPLY HERE ********* Last edited by andreas; 08 June 2001 at 11:02. |

oui je t'écoute mec
It is *normal* that you can't erase one thread that you have created no ?
imagine that you have launched one cool thread, and many many people have post into. this mean that you would have the power to kill ALL the discussion ? only because you have started the thread ? no, i don't think it is a good idea. (maybe I'm wrong but in this case please argument) to delete totaly one thread, please ask to a moderator. |

Yeah, I thought something fishy was going on there. Thanks, Big Brother RCK!
So let me get this straight: only mods can delete actual threads, not members? |

@RCK:
It is *normal* that you can't erase one thread that you have created no ? Usually, it is normal, with one EXCEPTION: *You* have created that thread AND you are the one and only poster in this thread. That means you ask something in the thread, NO ONE answered yet (that is the condition, of course!) and the thread only consists of one (mine) post. *Then* I should have a way to delete my thread. In all other cases, you're right and the possibility of deleting should be given nobody but you. It is on you to regard this "important" and implement this. |
