mui3.8usr
Hi I am new to UAE....
I have managed to get a working 3.1 hd partition up and running. I have installed picasso 96 and magicwb. However I cant get MUI3.8usr to install. The process starts, but then stops with the error Copylib: cant open file ""in line 299 DOS error type: unable to locate a file or drawer Any ideas how to sort it out ? |

It's been a while, but I think it's got something to do with the "installer" program you have
Try this one : http://wuarchive.wustl.edu/pub/amine...aller-43_3.lha Just place it into a place which is accessible ( SYS:C/ usually works well ) |

Try to install MUI from RAM disk.
If I remember correctly there is harddisk emulation and MUI installer incompatibility. (But don't ask me for a fix ) |

um...
ok. Obviously it's got something to do with the filename of one of the files because I remember it working fine with a normal Amiga. I also remember it screwing up on emulation, so yeah, it's WinUAE's fault Rather than using Novice/Intermediate modes, give expert a try. Accept the defaults for most of them. You'll eventually get to the part where it says "File Not Found". Since you're on expert, you'll know which file it's screwing up on and you can choose not to install it next time |

Hi all!
I gave expert install a go. The problem still arises. I tried skipping the first part of the install (readme files) to no avail. Is MUI essential? |

MUI is not essential. It's only a GUI system, BUT!, there's quite a few applications that use it. Especially internet apps
You don't need it though, so if you're having this much trouble, I say just forget about it |
