I remember that a friend had to cut wire 1 of ide cable to make his A1200
to recognize a 2,5" Hard Drive.

Yes. The 3.1 ROM chips made for A500/A2000/A600 run on a 68000. Only those made for A1200/A3000/A4000 need a 68020 (these computers all had at least a 68020).

would it be possible to put the amiga harddrive in my PC (Once ive formatted it and installed workbench) then copy all the hardfiles accross.
Yes, I already confirmed it. If it is a 2.5" HDD you need an adapter, though. One like this:

This is only needed if the drive spins up too slowly. You should first try it without.

The power lines are part of the data cable with a 2.5" drive as they have 44pins rather than the 40pins you find on a 3.5" drive, separate power connection is not needed. Because your A600 did not already have a Hard Drive fitted you may be missing this item, it's a short 44way cable, is it in the box? Did the 2.5" drive come with one?

Back again this time with a fresh new problem.

Installing workbench.

I have my harddrive working, The Amiga automatically partition it in half 1gb/1gb the 1st part is bootable, How do i install workbench, I have tried to Prep the HD but it keeps saying no device found on scsi 6, But my HD is scsi 1, I formatted the harddrive by clicking on the drive and selecting format on the top bar, I couldnt format it using the format icon in workbench because its looking for scsi 6.

Pleassssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee helllllllllpppppppppp im nearly there

Update

Got in working,

Just copying some whdload games accross, Some dont seem to work properly but never mind ill just install them with original install program on winuae then copy the install file accross.

Once again thanks for all you help
