The protection on Parasol Stars is a simple Copylock, the variable density version that looks like a square wave on a density graph.

IIRC Parasol Stars has many internal checksum routines, well hidden and checking each other. Maybe thats what dlfrsilver meant ?

I remember reading about it somewhere ages ago - one of the programmers was talking about it in a magazine, that despite all their tricks it was still cracked very quickly. Bored Seal / Dark Angel did the WHD install for it so maybe an email to either of them would be useful?

Googling around I see an issue of CU-Amiga from 1992 had a Parasol Stars WIP article in it; perhaps that was where I read about it....

Main Parasol Stars file is heavily encrypted, but once its decrypted itself, the game code is laid bare for all to see.

Copylock inside the encrypted file, as for any further protection checksums I dont know, I've never looked at it particularly hard. Similar setup to Darkman, by the same programmer
