I’m more of an occasional lurker these days, but as long as EAB exists I’ll always drop by to see what’s happening.

I confidently predict that, within our lifetimes, Amigas will be no larger than the average family car.

Not me I'm more of a 'in case of emergency break glass' kind of GM now and luckily there are now two other new GMs that make sure you all will behave.

As I also said the classic computer scene isn't quite old enough to see big effects The earliest home computers were about 1977, if you imagine the kids who owned them would have been at most 15 meaning they are about 62 today. That's still quite young with average UK male getting to 76.

HOWEVER in the last 5 years early 8-bit classic computers have come down in price. The Commodore PET (1977) and Vic20 (1980) are good examples. As are Spectrum 128+2(a)/3 or Amstrad 464.

They are not at the prices they were in 1992 where you could get 3 for £10 but supply is exceeding demand and people selling are not collectors but their family who don't expect as much.

I bought a new in box Vic20 for £60 just recently. I was the only bidder. I talked to the vendor and it was their dad's and they found it in his attic when he died.

There are outliers, where prices have continued to rise, like the classic car market, Spectrum 128 toast rack for example.

The prices of individual video games rather than hardware seems even more affected as presumably they take up more space and I'm seeing more and more come to market with very low buy it now or make offer prices.
