Desert Strike "Campaign 5: Supergun (MS-DOS Only)"

Was anyone aware of this extra campaign only in the MS-DOS version?

I didn't know that! Was it to do with us being stuck on 720KB disks?

https://www.mobygames.com/game/1461/...04/cover-1884/ suggests that the extra level was added to the CD-ROM version, but wasn't on the floppy-based DOS version, so it was probably a case of wanting to make use of a tiny proportion of the extra space. If the new level is at the end of the game, presumably it's the hardest of them all? The fact that it wasn't included in later remakes suggests that it wasn't well-received.

What remakes are we talking about, Desert Strike Advance or the PSP version? EA most likely consider the Mega Drive version to be definitive as it was the original and all other versions based on that. The Amiga and DOS versions have probably been forgotten about, so I doubt reception is the reason.

It would be interesting if the data from the DOS version could be used in some way to get the 5th Campaign on Amiga.

Yep, that would be interesting. Hopefully somebody can check if that is possible.

Wow, I did not know that. It would be awesome if it could be ported.

It's a shame the level and FMV elements weren't added to the CD32 version!
