I tried the tkgc_dev_crosshair.LHA from post #4662. The crosshair position on screen is moving a bit when looking up/down and the shots always converge to crosshair. I was able to aim much better and particularly with rocket launcher the crosshair is really helpful. So the current state seems quite usable.
The remaining issue is that the short- to mid-range shots hit the target significantly below the crosshair. Obviously it is due to shots being dispatched at the bottom of the screen. The origin of the shots seems to be even lower than one would expect from the weapon graphics. Thus, in next steps, it might be helpful to move the shot dispatch point more upwards. Indeed, I have no idea how complicated would it be in the code. |

thanks for the feedback It has confirmed what I had hoped (my kludge does improve the accuracy) but a better solution is required I think. |

One more thing: I suggest that Vertical Auto Aim and Crosshair become two independent options. The reason is that crosshair can be useful also for horizontal aiming in long-range shots, even if vertical auto aim is on.
