Scrolling has to look smooth with no hiccups just like the real Amiga or I won't be using the A600GS very often. I do hope that whatever it is, be it emulator performance, linux behind the scenes, or the SoC HDMI configuration that AmigaKit is on the case and it is fixed ASAP ![]() |

I'd like to see a in depth review focusing on games and display methods.
Lionheart, Jim Power and other important releases... What about realistic scanlines, crt emulation, bilinear filters... |

@alex/viddi
Yes, I hope this issue gets flagged up and fixed, I know the low powered A500 Mini is capable of running Turrican 2 with flawless scrolling so hoping it's just a case of some emulation tweaks. Haven't tried Jim Power (great test case) yet but I suspect it will really struggle, the title section of that goes in hard with the copper parallax and causes major problems for the A500 Mini so my hopes for the A600GS aren't sky high. I was never expecting flawless emulation of the entire Amiga range but was kind of hoping most of the A500 stuff would run relatively well, there will always be edge cases on these slower CPU's I suppose. Another small thing, could use with another option for smoothing the final output image for the low-res games, (I prefer the softer look) not an issue with the OS as that works excellent with the higher resolutions. |

Yes, kick13.rom, and it's showing under Manage ROM files.
Output resolution set to 1920x1080@50.00 Single line: Fastest but interlaced modes flicker Display with scanlines: Smooth Display uses authentic aspect ratio I can see it's booting from the 1.3 ROM as after starting the game, the screen does the fade to white thingy right after the machine boots. To test, I start the level, turn into the gyroscope thing and let it bounce between two rocks, this scrolls the screen left to right in infinite loop. The game will drop frames from time to time, possibly irregular intervals, *EDIT sound does not seem to be affected. Maybe cpu set to a low power state?.. CPU set at full speed. EDIT: Absolutely smooth as silk on mine, with same settings as you. Solid 50 fps, doesn't even budge bouncing back and fore in gyro mode with loads of sprites on screen. Just tried with Double scan with scanlines and stretched screen. Still same result, smooth as silk. Emulated CPU, doesn't go over 30%. Audio buffer and fps are rock solid. Have a 4K at home (Samsung), I set that to 1920 x 1080 @ 50, that was smooth. No issue at all. |

1. The TV model causes unusual syncing issue? (seems unlikely) 2. My A600GS unit differs in some way to other units. 3. The perception/sensitivity of frame drops differs from person to person. |

What does status leds show? if it is dropping, you would see if there. Besides, you mentioned it effected audio too. 1. Can't answer, left the trade just after HDMI was introduced. So never got to delve into workings of HDMI myself. 2. All are made the same. 3. Maybe. |

Hmmm. I have the leds up, the one on the far right, box in solid red, showing 60. Is this suppose to be the refresh rate/FPS?
Despite showing this number the output on the A600GS is set to 1080@50hz Another thing crossed my mind, from watching lot's of Digital Foundry stuff, improper frame pacing? Despite the refresh rate remaining static, intervals between frames can still become irregular. |

Now that is odd. Mine is set to 50fps in GS and in Amiberry its locked to 50. Why is yours 60, hmmmmm. |
