Beta 9: (RC1, beta tags removed)

- AGA mode color register with set genlock bit was misdetected as blanking being enabled. (b1 made it visible but real bug was introduced long time ago)

Beta 10: (RC2, Final?)

- Fast CPU and serial port loop back mode: transmit never finished, nothing was received.
- Undocumented serial port feature emulated: CPU/Copper INTREQ write that sets RBF bit will also set SERDATR OVRUN bit.
- ATAPI CD MODE SELECT command fixed. (Used to control analog CD audio volume)

@Toni, i downloaded the latest beta file on my machine. I placed it on the desktop and everytime i open the winuae.exe it creates a winuaebootlog.txt file. When i try to change the settings to "custom" it keeps changing this back to default settings. What am i missing ?

Technically not really beta specific but I am not sure how label the new thread so I didn't move this..

What does revert back to default? Paths panel Data path?

Toni, since FS-UAE is no more developed, I ask about source code for WinUAE. Is it available? I'm looking for FS-UAE alternative under Linux.

Thanks! Now it's the question, how to build it under Linux...

Toni,

Just came across a joystick glitch when on screen keybaord is activated...

When the joystick is active, example whilst moving in a turrican game, then enabling the on screen keyboard, the last movement remains enabled, character forever keeps walking until you exit the on screen keyboard.

Could it be better if movements are disabled when on screen keyboard is enabled instead?

Maybe it's not too late for FS-UAE to recover from stalling development, but lately I've seen Amyberry as an alternative non Windows emulator using latest WinUAE core.

There is a problem with WinUAE 5300 and 5300b10 since last Windows 11 updates. I have to quit WinUAE every time after i loaded a configuration. If i press restart and start again WinUAE hangs complete. Only Quit helps.

Edit:
it is not possible to upload my winuaelog.txt because it is bigger then 100kb

Edit2:
and i can't put in the text from log file in here because it has too much chars.

I found the failure. It has nothing to do with Windows 11 and the last updates.

The problem is the "CD & Hard Drive" section. if you choose Autodetect under "Optical media options" and there is no drive letter in the blank line under "CD drive/image" then the reset results in a full emulation hang up.

But if you put a letter in it (as an example --> M:\) then the reset button works fine and the emulation boots again.

This failure is in Version 5.3.0 and in 5.3.0 Beta rc2. 32bit and 64bit

OSK was designed to be separate from Amiga side joystick/mouse to not "disturb" them in any way but perhaps they should be centered when OSK is opened..

I don't remember there being any changes to CD emulation. Does it also happen in 5.2? If not, which was first 5.3 beta that introduced it? It sounds like some Windows API query stalls for some reason.

I tested two different configurations against each other. The first worked even though there was nothing under "Optical drive/image". The second continued to show the symptom that it no longer worked after a "restart".

So I adjusted both configurations bit by bit. Until I got the same error with the first configuration too.

In the end it is a combination of two different settings.

The cause is the "uaescsi.device" in the "Expansions" menu. But only in combination with the error I have already described.

Because if I have entered a drive letter under Optical drive/image and activated the uaescsi.device, the emulation works. But if I remove the drive letter and the uaescasi.device is selected, the emulation freezes.

Conversely, if I leave out the drive letter and deactivate the uaescsi.device, the second configuration works again.
