That thumb is your body telling you: maybe give it a rest for a while bro. I'm super serial about that.
My suggestion would be: to listen. |

I agree its my left thumb - but while I'm on exercise bike i like to play something. I plugged in the old C64DTV and dont use my left thumb, but the selection of games is rubbish.

What about flightstick type joysticks? I.e., ones that you can use with only one hand (suction cups or heavy base) and are of the digital kind (not analogue PC flightsticks)? Anything new out there that isn't too expensive (below 50€)?

the usb competition pro is very well made : real arcade micro switchs, metal shaft. Maybe a bit too stiff.

I have the original and the later one from Invividual computers, both (DE9) are stiff for me (in comparisson to other joystics). Issue with those that they are use a rubber buffer instead of spring, some lubricant (silicone grease is way better) may help there. Last edited by xc8; 31 July 2024 at 13:46. |

If you don't want sh#t spend 25 on a joystick in 2010, that will be 35-40 now cos time and wars and oil shortage. Plus shipping. :'(
Just want you to get a good one. 25 was what a half decent (except it was crap) joystick cost in 1989. That out of the way, ofc take care, seems like an inflammation so maybe get it checked? Sounds like you want either a very light (floppy) stick and then Anubis' suggestion isn't bad cos all fighting sticks trigger without much effort. You can put a long bathandle instead of a ball to decrease the effort further. You can get big, heavy ones which will stay put if you have somewhere to place them when exercising, or maybe you can find this ergonomic one. (You just place the hand on it and bash the buttons with your fist, actually decent at like IK+ cos you can hit distinct diagonals.) Other ergonomic ones include Phaser/Konix/Hand grenade style. All of the last 4 are ambidextrous and not very popular so could be found on the cheap I guess. The SVI one is the only one that can be used without any thumb touching the joystick. |
