Pressing keys causes A500 crash
I’ve got an A500 that I managed to resurrect from green screen death with a new Fat Agnus, but now I’ve discovered it has another problem. Whenever I press multiple keys on the left-hand side of the keyboard the Amiga crashes with an 8000 000B error.
Crashing combo examples: - 123 - QWE - ZXC - FHJ - Left Shift/Amiga - Left Alt/Amiga I’ve got a PiStorm installed (with Kickstart 3.2.2.1 as a file on the SD card) and an RGB2HDMI. Does this sound like a keyboard issue? CIA? PiStorm? Something else? It crashes in the boot menu so it’s not a software thing. Last edited by ant512; Yesterday at 23:10. |

Hmm, I don’t think it’s actually the keyboard. Removing the keyboard from the case and pushing the keys doesn’t result in a crash; pressing gently on the keys doesn’t either. Suggests that something is up when I apply pressure to the keyboard while it is in the case. I don’t see anything shorting and applying pressure to the motherboard in various places doesn’t cause a crash.

Putting an anti-static bag between the PiStorm assembly and the keyboard fixes the problem.

I wonder if this short was what killed the original Fat Agnus…
